Ok guys (and gals) need input here from the Paxton and Vortech crew.
As you are all aware our set ups require the use of the Paxton/Vortech PVC valve (Drv Side) for warranty purposes. Before I installed the blower I was running a Stef's Oil Seperator set up and it was doing a great job. So now with the blower in place I lost the Stef's unit. So the $100 question here is what is everyone running with the Paxton/Vortech set up in the way of either a Catch Can, Seperator or Breather ?????? Pics would be great for sharing !

I wasn't aware of this requirement? Where did you hear of this? My Vortech did come with a driverside PVC, but Vortech said ( I called) was a option to use if running a catch can I could remove it in place of the catch can...............
I'm running a Moroso catch/breather set-up. Just capped the intake manifold port and run both lines from the valve covers to the breather without a PCV in place. Some people are running a return from the catch tank but I don't see why.
My catch can/breather is where the battery used to be.
To answear the question. PCV does not work under boost so a breather takes its place.

I picked it up in one of the warranty sheets from Paxton. Thought it was a bit odd as well.
So I guess all I need to do is figure out a location to mount my Stef's can and do away with the PCV valve. Any further comments or pics on location for the can would be great.
Thanks Guy's !

Just run breathers. It's a lot simpler and you don't have to remember to empty them!
Agreed breathers are simpler.
Of course me being the way I am I have to do it the difficult way.

The UPS catch can is so large that on my N/A near stock GT i can empty it once every 1,000 miles. With a Supercharger i'd imagine maybe once every 750 miles would be more than sufficient.
it forces me to pop the hood and inspect things every week or two so i am glad that i have to empty it actually.
I've put approx. 4600 miles on mine in the last three weeks and there isn't enough oil to dump...........As a matter of fact I've never dump it once in 13,000 miles just no oil, really only a very light coating on the container. What up with mine ?

Its hard to tell from the pic. How big is that breather? Maybe a link? I am in the process of working on a crancase breather system with reed valves built in.
Have you popped the breather off and felt the exhaust pulses with your hand?
Can you feel them?
Are they pretty strong?
Your venting both valve covers?
How big in diameter are the vent lines?
Would you like more questions?

I am running an Elite Engineering catch can. My cam cover (PCV driver's side) I made -10AN threaded,, the hose runs to the catch can, then to the intake like OEM.
These are a very high quality unit, which I started using way before the UPR copy came out. Which I always see in pics hooked up to the wrong side I was all set to adapter the Elite piece to all the different S197 blower kits and sell them, but the UPR came out cheaper, and I am not going to bother.
I get A LOT of oil in my can after 2 hrs on a road course.
Still need to get a pic of the PCV valve in the driver's cam cover posted up for STL . I took the pic, but the camera card says it needs to reformat? If I do that it will erase the pics.
So if you think you are going to get rid of your PCV valve, you better pull the driver's cam cover and remove the steel tube inside there with the crimp in it. That's where the PCV valve lives. Take your cover off and shake it. "rattle rattle rattle". Or, put a hose on the nipple on the valve cover, suck then blow. Air goes one way and not the other
Plain breathers ARE not the preferred efficient way to evacuate the crankcase.
Modern piston rings are not designed to work with an open crankcase. Actually, if you were to test the theory on an engine dyno you would see a DROP in horsepower from the closed system to the open system. The rings do not seal as tight. If you want to do it that way, you need the proper ring pack.
