Long Tube vs. Shorty Headers for Supercharged Automatic Mustang!
I have a problem! I bought a Magnaflow X-Pipe w/ Cats with JBA Shorty Headers. Now, the shop close by said that it is better to do JBA Long Tubes w/ JBA X-Pipe since my car is supercharged. Will it really make a difference from one to the other? I am only running 5psi of boost. Any help would be good. Thanks!
The shorties will provide almost exactly zero HP on a FI car. Long tubes are good for 15-17hp on a FI car. One of the two big Mustang rags did a test on all of the long tubes on a supercharged car and they all well within 15-17hp. Shorties don't make power on anything. Sell them or return them if you can.

I really dont think there would be a BIG loss in HP if you go with the shorties. If I were you I would just use what you have. You spent the money so you might as well use the shorties.

Not worth it. As mentioned long tubes are only worth maybe 15 hp. If you really want more hp put that money toward upping the boost.
Return the shorties!!! I would definately put longtubes on a supercharged car. I have them on mine and plan to supercharge it soon. There are two main reasons I recommend it. One reason of course, is that you will make more horsepower and have a much better exhaust sound. Reason two, it will reduce boost (about 2 psi), thus less strain on your motor. In other words, suppose you have 9lbs of boost on a car with stock exahaust, you then add a set of longtubes and offroad pipe or high flow cat system. The boost will drop a couple of pounds in the higher rpms and make more power because of less backpressure. If you take your time and have a good place to do the install, it is not that bad. I did mine over the course of a week. But I only worked on it a couple of hours each day. When I was doing it, if something was in the way, I just removed it instead of fighting it (motor mounts, starter, etc.). Everything went well, and I noticed a nice power and torque increase.
I suspect alot of the power gained in the video was from a more aggressive JDM tune compared to the really "safe" Saleen tune. I want Kooks headers but at the current time I cannot afford them.
