2007 Mustang GT, Problems With My Automatic Transmission
Hi Everyone,
I am having some problems with my 07 Mustang and I was hoping you all could help me find out what the problem is. When I accelerate and I am already moving my tranny seems to shift OK. But if I brake hard to stop at a red light or brake semi hard going into a parking lot when I give it a little gas when I'm in the parking lot or once the light turns green the car hesitates for a split second and then sort of lunges forward. The engine revs but its as if the transmission isn't downshifting properly when I brake. Sometimes when I brake I see the tach needle slowly float up and down between 400-600 R's.
I have also noticed that sometimes when I'm completely stopped I just touch the gas pedal to give it just a little gas, nothing will happen. I keep pushing it in until it sort of lunges forward a little bit. The throttle has become really touchy in the last several weeks.
Here are some details on my car so you know what I'm dealing with. My stang is an 07 GT with an auto. It has about 60,000 miles on the odometer, and has a Steeda CAI w/ Brenspeed tune. I had the dealership change the tranny fluid at 30,000 and will be having it changed next week. I have had the rear brakes changed a while back but the front ones had not worn out yet. I think the pads need to be replaced now and I also plan on having that done next week. I got my alternator replaced about 7,000 miles ago, not at the dealership. (I dont think thats the problem but I'm covering all my bases.) I have a check engine light that came on maybe three weeks ago.
Sorry for the lenth of my post, I just wanted to give as much info as I could so you could understand my situation. I plan to take it in next week to have it looked at but I would like to go in having a better idea of what the problem is. Any help you could give would be much appreciated!
There was a TSB for hestitation after you had been driving at higher speeds. It happened to my 2006, I forget what they replaced, but it was fine afterwards.
Maintenance for the duration of a vehicle is crucial. I am a maintenace freak.
I agree I'm the same way. I always do all my maintinence early. I just had the dealership do a complete flush of my tranny fluid at 30k and its been running great. Cost around 200 bucks in the end.

Yep that is what I had done also. I would rather pay a little now, than a lot later.
