Default GT500 brake pad clips

I just got a set of these today and while comparing pics I noticed the pics from these set of calipers on musclemustangfastfords.com have some clips, but I don't see them on the calipers I just bought. Does anyone know if these clips come with the pads when you buy them or did they not include these in my purchase of the calipers ?

Those are the retaining springs that hold the pads in and keep them from ratteling around. They come in a kit with the upper and lower pins that push into holes in the caliper and go thru holes in the pads. Put the lower pin in, place the sping clip on, press it down and then put the upper pin in while your holding the spring clip down. Use a punch on the inside of the caliper to make sure both pins are all the way in. They are a press fit which holds them in. Your local ford dealer should be able to get the spring clip kits. Just ask for them from an 07 GT500. Once you get the hang of it you can change pads in about 10 minutes. I use two medium screw drivers to push the pistons in when I change pads for the track. One other part you should have is an SS shield that goes between the pad and the pistons to distribute the piston load and help guard the rubber piston seals from the heat generated by the pads. You can get them at this website if they are not available from ford. There are 4 shields that have an arrow embosed on them which shows which side they go on. One for each pad. GA

Wow. Thanks for the info, but that's a crock of sh*t. These things should of came with the caliper. $160 for the backing plates???

I really need to stop spending money on this car. The price for parts is outrageous.

Yea man....I freaked when I saw the prices also. Mine came with the kit...I think you should be able to get them from ford for a whole bunch less. You could also have them made in a sheet metal shop for pennies... they are just heat shields and look like .040 sheet but Stainless steel. Make them so they cover the back of the pad and put a little tab that folds over to hold them in place. They also should have an upper and lower hole that the locating pins go thru.
