Has anyone encountered this? I just called Brenspeed for a tune adjustment and they said "has anyone given you the JBA speech?" and then told me about the fact that they can't retune to adjust for the problem that the JBA's cause.

I live less than 20min away from JBA Performance Center and I say give them a call at (858)495.3395 . They will either quickly answer this question or put someone on the phone who can.

Yes JBA has some rather nice products, I'd like to know what they are talking about.

I may give them a call later, and if I find out anything, I will let you know. I have ordered the LT headers for my '05 and a catted H, they are on the way to the shop, and then I find out about this. Despite the research I had done before, I'd never heard this. I have heard iffy things about Pypes quality, so I didn't want to go with them, Kooks is bit more than I wanted to spend, and BBK doesn't offer a catted H pipe as far as I can tell, so JBA was my only other option. Yes, I know X pipes give you more power, but I hate the sound!

I got "the JBA speech" from brenspeed a while ago, and I can't remember exactly what the problem was. I think they can't update the tune for the relocation, but they can just turn them off, but I'm not sure about that.

I take it you didn't bother going with JBA then?

I think the code is for the front O2s not heating up fast enough.
Like I said I could be wrong, but thats the explanantion that came to my head for some reason.
I haven't gone with anything yet, but when I do it won't be affected by Brenspeed not wanting to tune for them. Right now I'm leaning towards some Mac LT's and a prochamber from Brenspeed, but if I was dead set on JBA's I would have no problem going that route, considering they are a reputable company that probably have hundreds of happy S197's customers.
I'm running JBA Long Tubes with Cats. I have no check engine issues. Contact Justin Starkey. VMP Tuning Inc . He can write you a tune. I can run E85 and Gasoline with no check engine lights. Whoever cannot tune for JBA's longtubes should go back to tuning school

Most (all?) LTs have issues with getting the o2s up to temp. I do a bunch of changes if the customer has LTs. I can't see how you could not tune them to work better, or at least good enough to not throw a code.
