Well, I am going go start my performance mods very soon here. I am saving... First, I was thinking about nitrous and I was discouraged from that because of all the horror stories, plus I live in HOT Florida and I don't want to have a high pressure bottle in the trunk.

My hopes now are to supercharge, but I hear that the stock internals can't really hold much after 475 RWHP, is this right ? if not what is the correct number?

Anyway, Before a blower, i was thinking about either a stroker kit to make my engine a 5.0 or 5.1 or is it good enough to just get forged internals for the 4.6 ?

Has anyone done the above here ? What would you guys recommend and who makes these items. I think a 5.0 stroker would probably be really bad @ss.

I don't drive my car everyday so I plan on doing most of the work myself with my boy. I guess if I mess up I can always winch it into a trailer and take it to a shop. The HP number that I'm looking at is definitely over 500. Yes, i know my car is still a virgin (stock) but hey I told you guys that when I was ready I wasn't gonna play around. The time is coming! thanks guys

I would personally get an already forged block from someone like Livernois but then again, you might prefer the peace of mind of replacing your stock components yourself. Both methods will cost you about the same. bt then again with a little more displacement you'll get a little more HP. But 500 is easily achieveable with a supercharger. Get a Kenne Bell and you'll have well over 500 right off the bat.

Thanks, I'm looking at their site now... Super chargers I'm considering a saleen, paxton or the new e-force. Have not decided yet.

The reason I mentioned the stroker is because I don't want to supercharge without forged internals and if I can get a 5.0 done while I am at it i think it would be better right ?

there is no real "bettr" just better suited for your wants/needs/desires.

By the sound of what you've said i think a 5.0 stroker sounds just about right up your alley. A good forged block will be an excellent platform to launch you new stang off of. The E-force i LOVEEEEE. probably my personal favorite supercharger thanks to its design. I also would consider twin screw positive displacement superchargers such as E-force, saleen, whipple or Kenne Bell since they give you that great neck snapping power right off the line.

stage 3 motorsports has some blocks at a very reasonable price from Coast/probe. They gaurantee them also. This is the way I will be going soon.

You have done your homework.

Just keep in mind, what itll cost to do it all, and then multiply by 2.5 to cover breakage, testing and tuning, and the little mistakes that cost.

As long as spending 30Kish isnt a problem for you... a fully built motor w/ FI and a drivetrain and suspension to hold is going to be a fun project!

Keep us posted.

If you`re going to go for forged internals, you`re going to be replacing the crank anyway, why not go for the stroker? It`s not going to cost you any more, that`s why I did it, besides the fact of a few more horses.

Alas, the above is true, for most heavy modders. You will need two budgets...one to mod and one to fix/replace/upgrade all sorts of stuff.

Also, do you have horsepower or ET goals? RWHP goals are much easier to achieve. Doing something with that new 500 rw etc is much harder and more expensive. Some guys out there going faster at the track with 400 rw, than some with 500.
