You only have two cats. If you install headers, even with aftermarket high flows, you could still fail emissions if the inspector sees the headers. If you just have a sniff test in Texas you might be alright.

It would also pass an OBDII test but agree it would fail a visual.

no problem with the visual, i work at a place where they do inspections the only problem would be passing the OBDII but if the long tubes will work and pass then thats my decision right there jaja

You will need to run a catted midpipe and have the rear O2 sensors enabled to pass the OBDII.

Hope you don't get caught doing that, your employer can have their license pulled along with big fines.

if you want to stay smog legal i recomend that you stay away from longtubes because there not emmission friendly...well in cali there not. i have longtubes and with highflow cats it wont pass and its pretty hard to get it to pass visual when longtubes stick down about 3 inches below your car. i would go with shorties and a catted h-pipe but thats my opinion. 5hp isnt worth your car getting impounded

Not sure of the requirements in El Paso. I think the inspection requirements are different from county to county in Texas. the DFW area is as strict as California, probably Houston is the same way and the other larger metropolitan cities. but the more rural counties are more relaxed.
