Default Clutch Pedal Hard to Push

I've searched the forum but couldn't find anything related to this, so here goes. My clutch pedal is very hard to push when compared to other 05 - 09 GT's, even GT 500's. Still have the stock clutch assembly, master and slave cylinders installed. Car has just over 50K miles of combined city and highway driving, and has not been dogged heavily. Brake/clutch fluid reservoir is full and no kinks in any of the lines. Clutch does not slip. Anyone have any idea what it could be - master/slave cylinders or perhaps the clutch needs to be replaced?

if its a cable type try spraying the cable and pull the action. It might be kinked also. Mine was kinked and dry. Bending back the kinks and lubing the cable made a world of difference.

the '05+ are all hydraulic, but there is a booster spring mounted vertically between the clutch and brake pedal. I think this is an over-center link that helps with pedal effort, it may be missing or unhooked. See link in the manual on this site index

I thought about the booster spring, but it's in place. I'm wondering if there is a problem with the master cylinder. I know, if the master or slave cylinder goes, the pedal will feel spongy, but I don't know what else it could be. It is the stock clutch, so I don't think that's the problem. The fact that the clutch is not slipping tells me it's something else.

Its your hydraulic throw out bearing assembly, there good for maybe 40,000 miles. Replace with after market not Ford approx. cost is 385.00. While your at it replace clutch and pressure plate and resurface the fly wheel too.

They're normally good for about 80K.

I agree, but they seem to start to let go around 40,000-60,000 miles. I 've replaced approx. 8 since 2006 on buddies cars and mine. Ford did a redesign back in 08. The lines are much larger dia. now and the boot is better sealed. Didn't purchase the Green boot one buy the Black boot one. Open box and check the color.
