Hey guys, I finally got around to setting up my JLT CAI and tune from Bamachips and I was wondering what I should be feeling now that it has been uploaded. To tell you the truth, I'm not feeling very much of a change, if anything it feels like it is shifting rougher and on each of the upshifts I can actually feel the car lurching a bit after the shift. Not the best way to explain, but it actually feels like the car is moving a bit slower after each shift as I can feel that I (my body) am moving towards the dashboard right after the shift.
Is this normal? I was expecting a lot more pull at lower RPMs, and I really don't have any use for increased high-rpm power. I don't spend time at the track and I was hoping that this would make my daily driving a little quicker and more torquey. I'm not that impressed as it is right now, but maybe this is just how the tunes act? What have you guys seen? Does this sound right?
One thing you have to understand, every car is different and will react different. What you feel depends on your mods. And you have to remember, what you have installed is just a canned tune file. Which means your using a tune file, that was custom dyno tuned for another car of your make and model. So remember what I said, every car is different and reacts different. In order for you to feel the full potential of the tune, you have to have your own car custom dyno tuned, Mike. SCT Tuner.
Damnit. It took a month to get the tune in the first place, and now I need to ask him to go back and see what could be wrong? Doesn't help that I know he is going through **** in his personal life.
I'll drop him an email and see how generous he is feeling...
will update-
Under 3000 RPM you don't notice much difference but above that you should really feel it. I have the 91 Torque tune. Can't comment on the shifting as I have a manual.

Try the pre-loaded SCT tune and do a comparison against what Doug wrote. You may notice the SCT tune will make more power.

I am so sorry you are going through this. Explain to Doug what you are seeing. Include the precise RPMs the car shifts, he will be able to adjust shifts using the data you give him.
I hope he is generous as well. However, it is a business and you paid a lot for your products. Generosity and customer satisfaction should not be in the same ballpark.
