Just bought predator tuner...help with a few issues...
well i started to setup the 93 octane tune...the power is nice in the 2k-4500 range....but not too much different above 4k...
on the highway @ 80mph in 5th which is about 2500rpms, is where the biggest difference is when i step on it...
my issue is the idle used to be smooth with the new spark plugs like a new car at 750 rpm...
well now it fluctuates about 25 rpms and keeps going up to about 800 then back down to 750...not fast but like every 10 seconds or so...its very VERY annoying...how do i fix this?
also under fuel adjustment is it safe to bring the needle more towards the rich side in the 4k-7k range?
i mean 1 or 2% more fuel is always safer right?

call who you got the tune from, with out a wideband adjusting fuel can be bad!
just call em and tell em whats up
its the actual tune from diablo sport....i selected the 93 octane tune and reset ALL parameters....
the installed....so its the one from the actual tuner...not customized....
why would the idle be slightly surging?
EDIT:also on a previous vehicle i was able to make the check engine light flash when the vehicle encountered a knock, how can i tell if my mustang knocks?

just found the JLT and the STEEDA CAI tunes under OEM selection.....
so if i flash with one of these i am sure its better than the factory airbox tune....right?
also how come we can only change generic parameters?
the difference between the JLT and STEEDA CAI tune is not in the parameters we can adjust but like hidden maps and things that is selectable is this right?

No, you dont want to flash a tune for an intake you dont have. Using a stock airbox tune is what you want, even if you have a high flow filter on the end. Your maf is still stock. The jlt and steeda have a larger mafftube, and therefore get tune different.
And you will probably have to buy special software to work with the tunes your self, probably upwards of $500.
Its also not a good idea to mess with your fueling or timing +or - unless you really know what your doing. And on a basic canned tune they are already only a conservative tune, so why dumb it down more.

what software can i use to tune?
i understand ignition and fuel, i had a 2002 acura rsx with a hondata kpro, which allows complete fuel, and ignition as well as cam degree adjustments...
i also understand that on a N/A engine the AFR should be in the area of 13.0-13.5 with bolt ons, or 11.5-12.5 with forced induction...
i was thinking about using my serial port wire, and data viewer to do some datalogging and get my fuel ratio right....

My car always had that slight surge at idle after I tuned it. And as far as adding fuel, the Diablosport canned tune will be very safe. Probably as safe as stock, just tuned for 93. The air fuel ratio is probably around 12.8:1 with the canned tune.

ok cool....a little rich but the arrow selector is like 50% into the lean area...lol that shows how much room for a turbo or blower there is for fuel adding....
is there software out there that i can use to do full tuning and then send it to the predator?

yea it looks like the software connects to usb sniper box, and the box has a 9-pin serial spot for the connection to flash devices(predator) so you can flash directly to the predator and then to the car, or maybe straight through?
if this is the case, for 350 bucks custom tuning is possible!!
