Default P0340 – p0344 – p0011

Long story short, on Saturday Oct 17th I installed a set of FFRP Hot Rod Cams in my 06 with a Bama Tune. Everything work out great until this past Monday Oct 26th when I started getting the P0340-P0344 codes and once in a while I would also see the P0011 code. I had to drive the car back and forth to work for 3 days until the new alternator came in about 18 miles each day. The new alternator was installed Thursday night and all codes were gone until today when I was driving down the highway at 70. I didn’t notice any change in performance or anything like that I checked the code and it was P0011. I cleared the code and went back on my way and it came back within 10 min. During the cam install all I changed was the cams do you think it’s time for a new set of Cam Phasers? I’m using M1 5W20 oil.

Was the alternator bad?

All the codes are for the right bank so I would double check the connections on the VCT actuator and the camshaft position sensor.

The other possibility that comes to mind is the reluctor wheel on the cam gear is only held on with 3 tiny roll pins and they have caused problems for other people including me. If the pins came out or broke on the reluctor wheel it will give position sensors problems. You used new cam gear bolts and removed the cam followers before you installed the new cams so the cam bearing cap bolts could be properly torqued?

There have been a couple guys that had cam position sensor problems after a cam install because of an inproper install.

I would guess it's a cam phaser problem too.
