The RPM change is dependant on your tire diameter, too....smaller diameter tires is equivalent to lower gears.
I thought I saw a website once where you could enter the rearend gear ratio, transmission final drive ratio, and tire diameter to give you the RPM at any particular speed.
I can tell you from experience that with my Top Loader 4-speed (a 1:1 final drive ratio) with a 4.11 rearend, and small tires (15" wheels with 245-60-15 tires) I was buzzing about 4,000 RPM going about 75MPH in 4th gear. Top end sucked - but boy did it pull hard through the gears!
