I read somwhere that you might get the 'check engine' light if you change the air intake, and that it will go out after a few hundred miles "when the car and computer gets used to it"...?? This sounds odd to me... I don't know if they did the required tune after changing to the CAI...
Here is a web site you might find interesting. I didn't find any TSB's on the 05 Mustang but it is a Government site and may be behind a bit. They will show up here eventually. There are other important links, like how to report a safety defect, etc, etc. Of course, I don't think the Shaker 500/1000 would qualify for that. They are most likely looking for safety defects that could cause a crash.
I used it and found a recall on my motorcycle and still haven't been notified by Honda yet. Lots of good information and it will give you something to do while waiting for your Mustang...
Dave 02 GT, I have seen that you may have put a topic as a sticky before in the 2005 Mustang forum topic. Can you put this topic about TSB's as a sticky so that we can monitor it more closely for issues that we have with our Pony's. I cannot seem to figure out how to go about it. Thanks in advance.b
:thumbsup here ya go

The Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that Ford sends it's dealers are available to the public through National Highway Transportation & Safety Adminstration.
These TSB's do not mean there is for certain a problem with your Mustang. It just means that Ford has seen a lot of repairs for this particular problem, so they send a bulletin out to the dealers so they have general direction with warranties.
The ones listed on the NHTS website are brief and the Dealers version may have a great deal more information. None the less, it is a starting point and I thought the link may be useful. It also contains Recalls, Complaints, and Defect investigations.
I´ve been told that an upgrade to software B35.1 would solve the MIL (check engine light) problem. I don´t have a Ford dealer here and the factory warranty doesn´t help me over here in Germany.
If anyone could help, I would be mailing some kick @ss Bavarian beer in return ! edit: a CD with the B35.1 software would be even better ! I might get the TSB from somebody else...

Those of you with the engine light coming on, I had that happen on mine. They initially said that it could be from not tightening the the gas cap. However it wouldn't go off so I took it in. According to the tech they are have problems with the factory coil settings. They reflashed the computer with new settings and I haven't had another problem with it.
Looking forward to more comments on the rear end in the 05 stang. The one in mine is sloppy and not very tight. I also had to take my back in to have the Shaker 1000 replaced. The CD player quit reading the disc's. So far so good with the new one they installed.

This article supersedes TSB 04-17-5 to update the model year and vehicle line coverage. ISSUE:
Some 2003-2005 Expedition/Navigator, 2004-2005 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 9.75" or 8.8" limited slip rear axle, and 2002-2005 Explorer 4dr, Mountaineer, Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Town Car, and Mustang vehicles equipped with 8.8" limited slip rear axle, may exhibit a chatter, shudder, a binding sensation, or a vibration during low speed turns. On 4x4 vehicles, the sensation may appear to be originating from the front axle or the steering gear.
ACTION:
First verify the condition. On 4x4 trucks ensure that the vehicle is in 2WD, to isolate the rear axle. On all vehicles, turn the wheel fully right (or fully left) and then accelerate the vehicle. If the condition is verified to be in the rear axle, replace the limited slip clutch pack.
Order and install the appropriate clutch pack, follow the installation instruction sheet included in the service kit.
3L1Z-4947-AB (9.75" limited slip)
3L1Z-4947-BC (8.8" limited slip)
NOTE:INSTALLING A CLUTCH PACK INTO AN INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION (IRS) AXLE IS DIFFERENT FROM INSTALLING A CLUTCH PACK INTO A SOLID-BEAM AXLE. BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION SHEET INCLUDED IN THE SERVICE KIT.
INSTALLATION TIPS
The clutch packs in this service kit DO NOT need to be shimmed. The clutch pack contains a pre-measured shim.
Be sure to install NEW circlips and halfshaft/wheel end nuts on IRS rear axle (not included in the service kit).
Soak the new clutch packs in Friction Modifier XL-3 (NOT XL-7) for fifteen (15) minutes prior to installation.
For IRS axle, Halfshaft Seal Protector 205-506 (included in the 2002 Explorer/Mountaineer Essential Tool Kit) must be used when removing the halfshafts to protect against seal damage, which may result in leaks.
Refill axles with 4 oz. Friction Modifier (XL-3) and the necessary amount of Rear Axle Lubricant XY-75W140-QL, regardless of the axle lubricant system originally used in the axle. Fill to capacity recommended in the Workshop Manual.
NOTE:AXLE FLUID REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN CHANGED. ALL VEHICLES BEING REPAIRED BY THIS TSB MUST HAVE REAR AXLE LUBE XY-75W140-QL INSTALLED, IN PLACE OF XY- 75W90-QFEHP. AS PART OF THIS REPAIR, CHECK AND REPLACE IF NECESSARY THE CURRENT XY-75W90-Q"FEHP" METAL TAG, WITH A NEW 75W140 TAG (F3TZ-4121-AA). ADDITIONALLY, REMOVE THE MULTI-COLORED LABEL WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE RIGHT SIDE AXLE TUBE, OR BLOCK OUT ANY/ALL "FEHP" OR "75W90" REFERENCES ON THE LABEL.

Guten Tag HiHoSilver, I was there from 77-80. Based at Ramstein, but lived off base at K-Town until I got a place of my own in the village of Rodenbach. God I miss the schnitzel and all the other german food. Are the girls and "guys" still out on 40 mark strasse?
Getting back to the Mustang, those little two lane curvy roads are what this car is made for and of course there is the Autobahn, just look out for those speed cameras!!! I never got caught, but I know people who did. OUCH Of course if they still have the ration coupon books, I'd use mine up pretty fast with this car. I always traded my alcohol and cigarette rations for gas, so that wasn't a problem. Have fun over there and get out and explore the Country. I did and was very happy.:thumbsup
I wanted to add my thanks to mustangtk for keeping us all updated. Can you please tell us approximatley from the time technicians like yourself receive these TSB's, when the customers will receive a notice from Ford? Thanks again - 05Power

You will never receieve any notice from Ford on a TSB. It is jsut a bulleting they provide to dealers when they notice a large amount of common problems. Typically TSB's are not safety related. You would receive notice only on recalls.
