Default check engine light

My check engine light keeps coming on and going off on it's own. My GT stang is scheduled to be picked up for service tomorrow. The Shaker 500 C.D. is also skipping. The tech. guy says they won't order one if he doesn't hear it. The c.d. player only skips sometimes, but I'd like it to work properly everytime. I also had the front suspension parts replaced because of the popping noises(one problem solved). Is anyone having a fuel problem? The fuel data error light comes on and then resets itself, and the fuel hand drops to empty even when it is full of gas. The tech. guy at Ford said they would have to replace the fuel pump because of a faulty "sender". Thanks for a response.

Default clicking noise in front end

took my car in for the oil change, they did there inspection and advised me they were ordering me some part for my front end due to the fact it makes a clicking sound when i turn, it is covered by my warranty but it still kinda bothers me. They said it is safe to drive but i parked it again anyway at least till the parts come in suppose to be like 3 weeks before they come in.

Yo Sonny1213....it took about a week for our dealership to get the parts to fix the clunking sound.....we just had the fix installed in my wife's car and it seems to have fixed it (at least for now). Not sure why it is taking your dealership so long.

I am having the fix done to my convertible today. Parts were ordered with my wife;s order.

Hey Jkraus,
Damn, That's all it took for your dealer to get the parts! I'm at 6 weeks now I think and the popping is getting worse. I think the shocks/struts/ whatever is under the car plain ole suck big time. What a same to to put faulty cheap parts in so many new cars even after Ford knew about it. I'm starting to feel the rage I had from calling that abhorent update # for 4 months. I'm not going to call the dealer to see if the parts are in.

I've got an appoiontment on 7/6 to fix TSB 5-9-11 Strut Popping.

I also have the "heater issue" Put the heater on feet and it still comes out the defrost. Not a big deal to me but it in my opinon, it's a new car and it should work properly. Anyone have a TSB# for this? The dealers seem to not recogize the problem that they are informed of until I bring the TSB #'s then all of a sudden they're ready to help. Can these dealers really not look up these problems without the TSB#? If thats true theyneed a better TSB logging system. Why should I have to do all the research?

thanks

Hey Steps - I had that heater issue looked at in my pony in April. The dealership even had a Ford engineer brought in to check it out. After they replaced the controller head and defrost actuator they stated, and I quote "..was told by the Ford hotline that Ford is aware of situation and that they are investigating it. Car was designed to function this way but a modification may be available later." Just for Sh**s and Grins, I went to three other dealers to test drive like models and sure enough they all functioned the same way.

Hey steps,
How long did it take to do the job? If my parts ever show up … at least I'll have some idea on the time it takes. My dealer is close to a movie theater and I can catch a flick while I wait. Thanks!

It took 8 weeks for my parts to arrive. Ordered 4/29 received 6/28. Fixed on 7/6.

The job takes 2-3 hours.
Kind of funny, My girlfriend and I went to watch "War of the Worlds" while the car was being worked on...

I had the front strut noise issue and got it fixed and it works great. However, I am getting a similiar noise from the rear. I don't know if its the same issue, but is anyone else getting a noise from the rear when they slow down or come to a stop? I wanna say sounds like something metal towards the rear under the car makes a click noise when I approach a stop.

Me too, I've heard a pop similar to the front pop and it came from the left rear. I really didn't want to hear it again. I was hoping it came from the front. I'm still waiting for the damn parts and getting more pissed as each day goes by.

I have the same noise too but i've notice that the finishing of the interior of the trunk near the left back seat isn't achor at all and seems to have the same sound when I move it. I'm going to the dealer next week to fix the front popping and I will ask them to fix this to. I hope that this will fix that rear noise.

I have 435 miles on my GT and the transmission started leaking. I also started to hear w whining sound while driving at normal constant speeds. It sounded like a high pitch noise. I also think the rear end is starting to make some noise in tight turns but I am trying to deal with the transmission primarily at this point. Anyway they said tat the case was cracked and that they will be replacing the whole transmission. Anyone heard of this or is it a fluke?

Your not alone - When I bought mine, 3hrs off the lot with 50 miles on her, the trans started to slip. Took 2 weeks to fix, cause the grease monkeys in the service dept couldn't figure it out. (They rely too much on technology and not feel, like experienced mechanics do). Anyway - as the trans was slipping it wasn't registering with the cars computer, so they changed them both and I haven't had a trans problem since.
