Thank you for this post as I have an '06 GT that I have been getting this groaning noise that appears to be coming from the rear end and I did not know what it was, now I can go to the dealer and have them verify and fix it.

Well just wanted to let y'all know I took the car to the dealer and they confirmed that it was the rear diff. that was groaning. They replaced the clutch pack like the TSB says and the car sounds great again, no groaning. Hope this doesn't happen again.

Yeppers I just got mine done today on my 06 GT. Gonna go pick er up when my wife gets home. Only 4300 miles on the clock.

I am going to take my @005 Gt in to the dealer right now for it's rearend. If they give me a hard time I'm going to hold my breath til I turn blue! Think it will work? I'll keep you posted!

I was to the local stealership yesterday. No, I did not try to get warranty work but was asking... had a TSB filled on my F150 if you must know...

Anywho; as I asked about the rear end repair I found out it is up to the tech to decide how bad it is and if the car needs a clutch, ring and pinion or just the clutch...!! I'd be in the trunk making all the noise I can!

Is it whining or binding? On my 05, they fixed the whining with some dampers earlier, but the binding is still there. Tire squaking while turning and so on.. Now its more safety issue since it started raining here and I'd not prefer drifting all the time...
Also the tranny is making cracking, raspy noises on shifting 2nd and 3rd. Maybe NOW they can reproduce the TSB.

I just bought an 06 last wednesday, Iw as asking my son if he heard the groaning noise from the rearend whenever I am turning left or right........5300 miles. I hole that I am not off for rearend work on my 5 day old car. If I am #*$&%^%(#*^
I just got it and now it goes back. Glad I kept my '02 taurus which I have NEVER,EVER, EVER had one problem out of and its got 68k on her.

Sounds like the rear enc clutch...
