Driving the car from the dealer, the Shaker seemed to work pretty good. I wasn't able to notice the volume problem. Also, the car had sat in the dealer's lot for the long 3-day weekend, and this morning, it started up with out a problem.
It would be nice if fixing the amp solves both the stereo and dead battery problems.

I have posted on this subject several times. My car was going battery dead every five to seven days. They traced it to a rear amp. They replaced that amp. One week later the car was dead. Rear amp they said! Replaced. Week later, dead battery. They finally traced it to a skinned wire on the rear subfoofer harness which was grounding out, burning up amps, and draining the battery. They patched the wire, replaced the last blown amp (4 total), and I have been good to go for over a month! No more volume fluctuation, no more dead pony in the garage, and the Skipper 1000 sounds better than ever! Yes, the b**ch still skips every once and awhile, but it is not as bad as the first month.
Dealer was J. C. Lewis Ford, Savannah, GA., and I am glad they had a tech smart enough to finally track down and solve the problem.
