Default Automate AM7

Hey Zenith16 your close to me. I'm from East Brunswick. I bought a White 05 Mustang GT from Oasis and they installed the Automate AM7 for me. It cost $349. I installed a Viper 550 ESP in my other car about 2 years ago. These 2 systems are identical expect the automate does not have the starter kill. Anyways....would you have any idea how to get the detailed programming instructions for the Automate AM7? Coudn't find it on the directed electronics website.

BTW goodthing i'm knowledgable about this alarm. The Oasis guy tried telling me that it's just a remote start and they didn't even install the siren, valet, or shut off push buttons. I couldn't even find the trunk pin, just the hood pin and the LED status light under the steering wheel. Kinda glad they did that so I can find a good spot for it on my own. Also, the factory transmitters had the remote car window control on them too. They didn't program that on the new transmitters. Seems like they did a half ass job...good thing i'm raising questions and so far no prob, just inconveince of bringing the car back in for them to work on it. If the damn car wasn't on warranty I would be doing all this installation myself.

Is that the feature of rolling up/down windows without key in ignition? I do not see that feature in the manual provide here.

It seems like there are plenty of sites that will send you some info - for a price. I'm surprised that Automat wouldn't send you the works. And at the least the dealer who sold and installed the unit should be able to reprint you something. I don't have an inside track on this stuff. As for the PowerCode product sold by Ford, it does not specifically show how to make the windows go up or down. Yet the unused circuits seem to show some possibilities. I wasn't interested in this feature anyway. I installed the automatic headlight/daytime running light module from Ford and it works great.

I also have the factory alarm. I have a reset button underneath my steering wheel. If you have one they could of installed it anywhere though. Don't quote me but i believe the dealership itself installs that button?!? The only way i could tell you how to find it is to, set off your alarm, this causes that "button" to blink red. You will know when you find the right button because it will make the horn honk three times. It is the button that is used to program your alarm. Which, if I say so myself, is ackward but fun using that button and your lock button on the door. Anymore questions ask your dealer because i dont know anything else.

I'm not sure if you have the remote start or not. I have the 5-speed manual and I talked to someone at the dealership yesterday. They said the the factory installed alarm is a passive alarm. It won't go off by touching the car or trying to lift the door handle. It will go off if the window is broken into or the hood or trunk is opened up while the car is locked.

I haven't checked to see if there is a red button yet or anything. It didn't sound like I could reprogram my alarm though. I'll have to check.

Does anyone know for sure that the anti-theft opton allows you to do the windows down feature? And the remote start. I have yet to find the secret button . My windows wont roll down know matter how long I press the button.
Someone mentioned the alarm unit was on the driver side somewhere. Is that behind a panel?
Almost a week I have had the car and I still cant stop smiling.

Default Windows roll up/down feature

If you have the alarm on, turn off the alram first. Put your key in the driver door and turn the key to the left. Both driver and passenger side windows will roll down automatically. It's cool....

This from the owners manual on page 65 describing the "opening all windows" or "closing all windows" title....

"Your vehicle must be equipped with the active anti-theft system, ignition must be in the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position and the accessory delay feature must not be activated in order for this feature to operate."

In other words, to make the all windows up or all windows down feature to work, you must give up the accessory delay feature. The accessory delay feature lets you use the windows, radio, etc for up to 10 minutes after you turn the car off.

In the same part of the manual, it tells how to turn the accessory delay feature off and windows up/down feature on.

Could you (or anyone) supply more information about the headlight/daytime running light module from Ford? i.e. part number, location, etc. Also, is this something else that has to be programmed by the service technician? I would love to activate DRLs on both our Mustangs.

I am still trying to figure out how to add the fog lights to our 05 V6, and trying to get the dealer to fix the global window operation on my 05 Mustang Gt that came with the "factory" active alarm system.

If anyone knows of any other add ons available from the dealer that are "factory", please let us know. thanks

What manual do you have. I have a Mustang Owners Guide 2005 and I can't find anything on how to turn on/off or disable the accessory delay feature. Maybe I just ain't seeing it. Perhaps a page number would be helpful
