In the "For what it's worth department", I just got off the phone with Ford Customer Relations. According to them, The Window feature is supposed to operate with the Accessory Delay feature on. That's why you can't find out how to de-activate it in the manual. ?!?!? Possible editing error maybe? According to them, if it's not working, it needs to be repaired at the dealer...

Now when I spoke to my dealer, they were unfamiliar with the feature. As a matter of fact, one of the Service guys has a call in to his computer guru and is supposed to call me Monday. The first guy I talked to sent me to Helm - I think to get rid of me. I look forward to taking it in to my deal for repair! LOL.

You need to go back to the dealer and point to the bottom of page 65 in the owners manual. They have to reprogram the body control computer. If they don't know how to enable the global window opening feature tell them to call ford for instructions. I explained the feature to my dealer when I was picking up my car this week. They called ford and had an answer by the end of the day. The next day I stopped by and they had it resolved in about 2 minutes.

I have yet to find this feature. I've tried all the keys and button pushes for the window operation w/o success. I will get underneath and look for the 'button" that's supposed to be there if you have the active anti-theft option. BTW, what is the active anti-theft option do ?

I've got the same manual. I've been through that section 3-4 times and I can't find out how to disable the "accessory delay feature" either.

Probably an oversight in printing the manual. That said, it sounds like the "windows up/windows down" feature is there. It somehow has to be "activated" by the dealer during PDI? Sounds easily correctable by the dealer. I'll do that when I take it in for the first free oil change the dealer gave me.

You will know when you find the right button because it will make the horn honk three times. It is the button that is used to program your alarm. Which, if I say so myself, is ackward but fun using that button and your lock button on the door. Anymore questions ask your dealer because i dont know anything else.

Arrrghhhh my neck!!! I've been under the dash for an hour and cannot find any button. I can't find anything on the accessory delay either.

OK stupid question of the day-Do we have a shock sensor with the active alarm option?
During the wonderful financing ordeal I had so many alarm upgrades including a GPS tracking system presented to me it was making me dizzy. My policy has always been once the cost of the car has been finalzed it's a standard NO to everything else offered by the dealership. However, I am beginning to wonder if I was too hasty. I am afraid I gave the active factory alarm too much credit in terms of security.

Hey MachOne-Besides the $1950.00 ESP they tried to sell me. They told me that someone will try and steal my new stang flat out. I would be foolish not to purchase some GPS device for $995.00. I declined on both. If my car is ever stolen and this goes for any car I've ever owned … I don't want it back I never want to see it again
That's just how I feel on stolen cars.

I totally agree on that. I'm sure the thieves will carefully leave the car unharmed in a protected lot where the police, following the expert guidance of a civilian using his dealer purchased tracking software, will be able to direct them.

Regarding the active alarm system, I can not see any indication in the manual that there is a shock sensor. Also, my interior motion sensor does not seem to be operating. Does anyone know of a process to activate this or does the car need to go in for this to be serviced?

I am assuming the motion sensors are enclosed in the overhead map light housing.

You should be able to arm the alarm with the windows down and wave your hand inside to acitvate the motion sensor. I had the alarm set with the windows down and set it off just by walking past the door, walking very close, front to back.
Yes the sensors are in the overhead map housing.
Don't know about the shock sensor, but there is an inclinometer in case some one tries to tow it.

A couple of things to note. You cannot just turn off the accesory delay. It must be done through the body control computer using the dealer diagnostic tool. The global window down feature does not have to disable the accesory delay to work. My dealer enabled the global window feature and the accesory delay still works.

As far as the anti-theft system, there is no shock sensor but there is an inclinometer and motion sensor to detect if the vehicle is being jacked up or towed. This disables the engine controller so the vehicle will not run. There is also the interior motion sensors to detect if the windows are smashed or anyone reaches in with the windows open.

My dealer was also unaware of the feature until I mentioned it, even though at least one of the cars on the lot had it functional. He promised to look into it while I was signing the papers taking delivery. He got back to me within a couple of hours and when I stopped off to do the update he took it back to the service area and it took less than 5 minutes.

Houston- We have global window operation Thanks to "AFM" and it's members. The windows are good to go… up and down The tech that came out to do it had no idea and was pleasantly surprised.
