Does the global windows up feature only work with key in door for 2 seconds or does the fob work for up and down?

Hey junior- The key works the windows up and down. The key fob only down. It's both windows though.

At my dealership, today, I was told the remote widow and remote start features of the active anti-theft system are no longer available because of conflict issues with some cellphone signals. He says they /might/ just be "unplugged", but he wasn't sure.

Not sure how "in the know" the guy was, but he says that's what his manager told him.

Hey Corwin- The service dept. had no clue about this feature. I printed out a few quotes from page 4. I went back to the dealer and the tech came out w/ his programer unit or whatever its called. It showed on the display that the window opening feature was "off". He then pressed a button to "on". It works and they were all surprised. Less than 5 minutes.
I don't have remote start though. My car was built the second week of March also. I think some service folks higher up the chain don't like it when a customer comes in and has new info. they know nothing about. That's how I felt about it. "Were did you get this info and who told you this works". I had to keep shoving the paper toward him so he'd read it!

Default Active Anti-Theft Tip-Off

I have this feature, but suspected it was not working when I held the "Unlock" FOB feature for more than 3 seconds and the windows stayed in the "up" position, instead of automatically opening on both doors. Sure enough, I went to my service department today, and they had no earlier experience with the 05 active feature. To make it brief, I told them to call the Ford hot line -- they did -- and had the entire system up and running in less than 10 minutes. The service department was impressed with the fact that a customer had a good amount of knowledge on this issue and could help them with a solution. the only reason I knew was because of the good people on this website and their imput.

If anyone is interested I can scan the programming sheets and post them. I would hate for someone else to have to go through what I had to with that darn 800-ford-key number. The fax back system does not even have our cars listed yet. Then there was the bit where I had to sit on hold for 45 minutes to get a tech to help me(they really did not want to send the papers to me, but I finally got them).
interestin see i have the same problem with my focus and the alarm just does not sound it has been broken into and to make long story short ford did not cooperate any things you have on the factory alarm will help me perhaps same on mustang and focus thank u

I went to my dealer today and they don't have a clue about the remote window down feature and said that they would get back to me. I have the active alarm system. Does the remote window down feature come with the active alarm system or is this an option that you have to pay for?

My dealer didn't have a clue either. The tech came out and plugged in his programmer under the steering wheel. Then he found the option was off. He turned it on and it works w/ the key and remote. It took less than 5 minutes. The service dept. did thank me after because they figured other stang owners w/ the active alarm system are clueless also. They may never find out if not told or they don't bother reading the manual.

Default Remote start from the factory

I have an 05 GT with the alarm and motion sensor. My power down window feature works fine, built 11/11/04. Do I have remote start from the factory or do I have to buy something else?

Remote start is a separate dealer installed accessory. It is not part of the active-anti-theft system.

Default Please Help Me Do This Myself!!!

So I printed out each of the pages from this thread that showed the procedures. The service monkey seemed to know aboutt the feature but said that Ford woudl not "allow" them to enable it. I have TWO 05 GT Mustangs wich I paid extra to add the active alarm when I ordered them BECAUSE OF THESE FEATURES! He stated that the computer did not even list the feature. I have had these features on my other cars (Mercedes - totaled, Jaguar - sold, Expedition)

This is what was presented to me:

TSB 18555 Windows Global Open/Close

"2005 Mustang vehicles built after January 3, 2005 and equipped with the optional active anti theft system, do not have the power window "global open/close" function enabled. The global open/close function of the power windows has been discontinued. This function cannot be reactivated on these vehicles. Effective date 4/18/2005 "

I argued that my cars were built JAN-23-05 and FEB-16-05 but both were ordered and paid for based on this feature availability back in December 2004. Since I did not take delivery of the cars until March, the Dealer AND Ford should have informed me and given me the choice to accept it OR work out something. Instead, both cars were placed on warranty repair the night of delivery.

If somone has a workaround I would like to know what it is. I paid for it!

Go to a different dealer and ask them to activate it.

Default Doors/LOCKS section for windows not GLOBAL WINDOWING

I had my windows activated this morning. I watched the tech as I had explained what it was he needed to do from the information on this site.

He actually enabled the Door/Locks from the Body section of his diagnostic tool. It said nothing about the windows. We enabled, set the key to on to activate, turned the car off, and used the remote to roll down both windows. Key brought them right back up!!!
