On the 06s did they disable just the remote part of the window control, or the key cylinder part too?

If it is possible to still raise and lower the windows with the key in the key cylinder then it should be possible to easily add the remote up and down feature to the car.

yeah, I read that. It seems funny that to 'fix' the problem Ford completely disabled a cool feature.

Well, after reading 8 pages of posts, I went up to the 05 GT (with the doors unlocked) put the key in the door lock, turned it counter-clockwise. I can hear a relay making but the windows are staying up. (strange)
I tried the press the unlock 2 times and then hold for 5 seconds nothing happened.
I havent looked for the button under the dash yet. I might take a stab at it tomorrow. But I dont know. So far, according to this thread, there is probbaly 4,000 Mustang owners thinking that someone stole their button without the alarm sounding.

My daughter just bought a 2005 Mustang GT. It has an factory alarm system. We can not get all the functions to work. Like window roll up or down, Motion sensor doesn`t work and a few more. How do we find out what the defaults sre set at ? We are in the Army in Germany and don`t have a US Ford dealership here. And I don`t think the Germans have program readers and setters for a Mustang. Do we have a pasive or Active alarm system in the car ? It has sensors by the lights in the center of the roof. Thanks Needing help in Germany

the alarm they are mentioning in this post is for a ford accessory part. witch means it was add at the dealer but not installed at fords factory, basically it is a add on.the alarm with the mikes by the dome lights is factory installed and has no adjustment. on to the window roll down option, if the car has had the computer updated or is of a certain date code (xx date and after) they removed that because other radio signalsalarm that could(and have) rolled down the windows while disabling the alarmthat is why it dose not do the window trick
