Default Factory alarm settings.

Has anyone else reprogrammed their factory alarm? For some reason all my cool settings where disabled (like auto lock and unlock with key in, dome light on for a couple of minutes, and auto arm). The shock sensor was set so high I though I would need a sledge hammer to set it of.

If anyone is interested I can scan the programming sheets and post them. I would hate for someone else to have to go through what I had to with that darn 800-ford-key number. The fax back system does not even have our cars listed yet. Then there was the bit where I had to sit on hold for 45 minutes to get a tech to help me(they really did not want to send the papers to me, but I finally got them).

Yes, please post them. I did not order the spoiler so I can not hang on to the back and ride all around town if someone tries to steal it.
Seriously though, there is not that much info in the owners manual and, I was just hoping I would figure it out when my car got here and I had a chance to play with it.

Well here they are. My program button was installed right under the steering wheel. Little things like getting the alarm to arm itself after a minute made it feel like it was a new car all over again!

Hope this helps someone out there.

---i have a 05 on order, are you talking about the optional alarm?

when you say "program button under steering wheel" does this mean factory installed?

your first post about this seams to indicate you had problems with it deverting back to stock after spending time programing, is this still happining?

is codealarm fords vender they use for alarms?

Yes, mine was factory installed. I can wave my arms in the car and the alarm goes off. The problem I had was my fault for not reading all of the instructions. I kept pressing the default reset button. Mine did not have the remote start cable installed, I donno if this is do to mine being a 5 speed stick or not. One problem I see though is our factory key fob does not have a button for the remote start. The alarm unit had a big old Ford emblem on it and it looks to be made by CodeAlarm/Audiovox. So I guess Ford just re-brands it. My alarm module was installed around the drivers side kick panel.

And also be careful. I was so happy to have auto passive arming set and I thought I had locked the keys in the car this morning while I was gassing up!

It would be a VERY impressive hack indeed to figure out how to add the wire for remote start. I'd be willing to buy a new remote and a wire for my 5speed GT to have remote start. YES, I do know it's not safe with the manual.. thanks.

Can you clarify?

1) what button under the steering wheel? I have the active alarm and there is no button under the entire dash driver area except for the fuel pump reset. It is not like a factory to install a valet override/manual programming switch.

2) where exactly is this codealarm module you mentioned?

3) what is the 'default reset button'

4) what is the indicator light you are describing - again the factory system doesn't really have a seperate LED.

Ideally, if you could please snap some pix!

Thanks in advance for helping clarify. I have a feeling you were given an aftermarket alarm by the dealer perhaps? I don't ever see a vendor making a component (like the alarm, or the Gentex mirrors I installed) using their standard manual. It's such a low cost for their art departments that it just doesn't add up.

Thanks in advance!!
Peet
