Here are my results. I printed the best with the factory tune (93 octane fuel, pre-cat filter removed). Then best with SCT Xcalibrator 93 octane tune from Alternative Auto in Michigan
http://www.alternativeauto.com/prod...stang_tune.html (pre-cat filter removed). In both cases, all else is stock. Bottom line: Net gains - 11 HP and 13 ft/lbs. torque. I'm kind of disappointed. I e-mailed my results to Alternative Auto to see if this can be improved as my numbers are considerably below their published results. Albeit, every car is different. At the end of the day though, the proof is what you feel when you drive, and the fact is the car responds much better (throttle response) with the tune, and feels like it gained more than the numbers actually reveal (especially torque). Frankly I was surprised with these numbers and expected (based on the improved performance) closer to 20 RWHP and 25 or 30 ft./lbs, torque. And of course now I wonder how it would feel if I got closer to what I expected.
So was it worth it? I'd say yes - primarily because it's "early in the game" and as better tunes are developed, the Xcalibrator can be "re-loaded". So in a way it's a one-time investment. And I think a good CAI (with a re-tune) will further improve performance. I hope this helps those of you that are considering this mod.
