Arrow Good alarm systems??

I just bought a 05' V6 mustang in redfire metallic . However i decided to not buy the dealers alarm system and to just get an aftermarket one. Im 20 and havent had much experience with alarms and I would like to know which are the top alarm systems out there. Ive heard clifford is good, but am looking to spend no more than $325. Also would like to get a good system with a remote starter. Please share your opinions.

I have the Clifford Matrix 3.5 alarm system with the remote start in my 05 GT. I'm very happy with it, but the remote start system disables the need for the Coded key. Meaning that you can take any copy of your car key now and start the car.

I had a local Auto Stereo/alarm shop install it. It was $599 installed. It takes all day because of the remote start system. I hear that is very labor intensive.

Default Alarm System - Only One defense

I had LoJack installed on my Manual GT before I even took it off the dealer's lot. I do not have the active alarm system. Around NYC suburbs where I live, people are more annoyed with the alarms than alerted or helpful. I also have the early warning from LoJack, which will call my cell phone, home phone and e-mail me within 15 min to an hour if my car is moved without the LoJack key fob in the car.

Installing a remote starter would not disable the early warning system , but would disable the electronic key security from Ford.

Apparently, a pro car thief will be able to get around the active alarm and electronic key security systems, so recovering the car quickly with minimal damage is what I hope to accomplish with the LoJack system.

Also, don't keep your key codes for replacement keys in your car.

See the Lojack web site www.lojack.com for more info on auto security.

Pardon my manners, but how much was the LoJack system you had installed Iplaydat?

The base LoJack system was $325, and the early warning upgrade was $150. For $475 installed that's worth some piece of mind. I'll probably make it up in a year or two with insurance discounts.
