I had LoJack installed on my Manual GT before I even took it off the dealer's lot. I do not have the active alarm system. Around NYC suburbs where I live, people are more annoyed with the alarms than alerted or helpful. I also have the early warning from LoJack, which will call my cell phone, home phone and e-mail me within 15 min to an hour if my car is moved without the LoJack key fob in the car.
Installing a remote starter would not disable the early warning system , but would disable the electronic key security from Ford.
Apparently, a pro car thief will be able to get around the active alarm and electronic key security systems, so recovering the car quickly with minimal damage is what I hope to accomplish with the LoJack system.
Also, don't keep your key codes for replacement keys in your car.
