Default New Tint

First mod officially out of the way. It's 30% Llumar Performance Tint all the way around. Lifetime warranty includes protection against fading. I have a feeling I'll be collecting on that warranty someday, in 2035!

It has a very slight reflective quality to it, but it's not reflective tint. The installation is excellent, no bubbles, even cuts, optical clarity out back window is near perfect.

They charged $139 for the standard (smoke) tint and $169 for the performance tint.

Last weekend I clay'd it with a Meguiar's Claybar. Then Meguiar's Step2 Polish and finally Meguiar's NXT Wax.

Time to start researching CAI's and which tuner I want.

PS Before the flames start, the dealers logo is coming off as soon as it's warm enough outside to soften that adhesive.

Mucho nice man!

That dealer logo is certainly not as bad as some as Ive seen, tho I'd be removing it too out of general principle. =)

Defintely like the tint, sets it off! I'd like to get a tint on my mineral grey when it shows up, but here in AK its apparently against the law. Of course Ive been on the lookout for such things of late (also we're required to have front plates, but roughly 1/3 the vehicles in this town dont) and a number of vehicles have fairly dark tinted side windows. Not sure whats the deal with that as the law seems a bit fuzzy in this state, or more to the point my understanding of it.

Either way, very nice ride my friend, very nice!

Yeah, that tint looks really good. I like that it is not too dark. You can still see in and out. I mean think about it. You want people to know who is driven' that bad as car. Also to see out, there are some blind spots in the quarter window area and the rear spoiler. No need to make it terribly worse.

The one picture in the front looks like you have smoked covers on your head lights? Did you do that or is that just the way the picture turned out.

Oh, by the way.....it looks like somebody just used some tireshine before that picture was taken...I should call myself MONK. (looking at pointless things, oh yeah your trash if full you had better take that out to the street)

No seriously, nice outcome with the tint

Thanks. I do not have tinted covers on the headlights...must just be all the other black. I read something about a set of covers that is black in the daytime, but they change to clear at night. I'm going to track that discussion down and find out what the deal is with that.

Definitely just did the wheel shine. I need to ditch the spray bottle for a tireshine sponge though. The bottle makes a mess.

I'll get to work on the trashcan though! :thumbsup

bill_brenda: I can assure you, this car is worth the wait. You won't be sorry. It'll probably just mean that much more to you once you have it.

eyelleye: 50% is the limit in Ohio, but I went with 30%. I've seen countless tints around here that were much darker. I'm kind of playing the odds a little, but I figure if the local police grade on a bell curve, I'm just above passing I think our police are pretty reasonable too. They tend not to mess with people that don't earn it. It's the troopers I worry about. My brother used to be a deputy sherrif near here, and I asked him about it. He said he never gave a damn about tint. He wanted the red-light/stop sign/100mph drivers. He also said if he saw tint that was obviously outside the limits, he'd tell them they had to change it, but he never documented re:ticketed for it.

Thanks for the positive comments. Wish I could take credit for making that car look the way it does, but "Big Thanks" to Ford and the Mustang design team for that.

I'm really anxious to start the personalization stuff on this car. Stripes, Interior, Lowering, etc..

J

I've read about those. The tinter told me to keep the windows up for 4 days. I'm still in that 'windows up period', so I'm going to call him and ask about that.

Let us know. I'm holding off for now. Scratch thing worries me.

Also, hit that grass with some 16-6-8. It will green right up.

I've "got a guy" for the grass. We're just on the brink of spring taking hold and seeing everything wake up.

So far it seems the problem is with dirt accumulation around the rubber seals on the door. I don't really let my car go that much. Anyway, more to follow....

XXP, keep that inner seal clean!! My tint was scratched all to hell. My tintin guy just re-did my driver and passenger window today and tonight I plan on pulling door panels and removeing the inner seal all together.

I don't think a felt strip will stay stuck to the rubber seal. . . might as well yank the sucker out all together.

Very nice there my friend. But you'd be right on the cuff here with the degree of tint...... especially on the front window. A friend was riding with a friend of his who was pulled over last month for speeding. The officer made a comment about the degree of his tint.....just a comment mind you, not a warning. The moron mouthed off to the cop and made some wise a$$ comment. Bad move..... he now he has to have it removed and downgraded. He has 30 days.
