Post Suspension Kits or Springs

I have been reading the threads on replacing the stock springs with either Eibach or Steeda kits to get the lowered look and improved handling.

Along with the lowered stance, I'd like to get rid of as much body roll as possible without having a negative affect on the handling of the car and therefore have been thinking about the full suspension kits.

Therefore I was wanting to get peoples opinion of the suspension kits from the likes of Saleen, Steeda, Eibach, Koni (yellow??) etc. I guess these springs and struts have the benefit of being a functional unit, rather than a strut working with a spring it was not designed for.....then again the spring has been designed around the strut I guess.

My driving is a mixture of twisty roads and highways, with most of these being relatively uneven. I don't mind a firm ride as my soon to be previous car is a Jap. mota....did I just hear a Boooo

Has anyone replaced there suspension setup with a complete kit yet, if so can you let me now the differences between it and the stock setup.

Oh, I am looking to go for 19" or 20" alloys

Thanks in advance

I just picked up a set of Koni Yellows for my 95 V6 coupe & i'm matching them up with the Eibach Pro Kit. Everything is being installed on Wednesday.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Had my mustang lowered yesterday, Progress springs. The book says a 1.4" in the front and a 1.7" in the rear. However it looks very close to 2" in the rear. It looks good, I like it.

I went with Steeda's all the way around (sping, sway & brace). Lowered it about 1". Very pleased with the look and handling.

Default Lowering Kit

If you can wait a couple of months and have the $$$, Eibach is coming out with a Pro System Plus Kit some time in June or July. I talked to one of thier techs personally, he said the kit will have the springs, shocks, front and rear anti sway bars and a bumpsteer kit. Probably around $1,200 to $1,300 plus install ( I've been quoted $6OO fotr the install). I will probably go this route unless H&R comes out with a similar kit. I feel like the GT has too much body roll also. I drive 75% windy, flat country roads, 25% Xpressway. Word of caution, some internet stores are claiming to have this set in stock! That is why I contacted Eibach! The price was too low to believe! buyer beware, Eibach said not until June at the earliest!

Can I offer a humble opinion here? I don't think the 20" works well on the '05 GT. 18 is OK and 19 is a push. The proportion starts to suffer after you exceed 18" in this model. Starts to look like that big wheeled Infinity SUV.

I agree. I decided on 19s for the same reason. I think 20s are a bit too big for such a small body.

Ditto as far as I'm concerned. Tires are supposed to accent the beauty of your ride. With the bigger wheels they are so flashy that they compete with the basic flow of the car. Just my opinion, but then again I'm old school.

I opted for Bilsteins over any adjustables. They have been a fantastic choice. The ride quality was fantastic over stock and they work well for the occasional autox. And I don't have to worry if they are set right!
