Angry Installed JBA mufflers uneven...fix?

I just had JBA's axle-back muffler system installed. I love the new sound but the driver side muffler is lower than the passenger side. It looks stupid. Unfortunately, I was so excited to have my new mufflers that I didn't notice the problem until I came home and took a good look at the rear. My fault, I know..I should have checked better before I left the place that installed the mufflers.

Should I take it back to them and see if they can fix it or is it something I could adjust myself? If these guys couldn't do it right the first time I have little confidence they can fix it the second time. Should I see if my Ford dealer can fix it or just go somewhere like a Midas? I'm disappointed since I waited all week to have these installed by a "professional". I probably could have done a better job myself! Any tips would be appreciated.

Well the new system has the same problem and since the tips are larger, one of them touches the plastic. I fixed it by putting about 5 more washers under the mounting bracket, but is there any better way? I can't see any difference between the two sides. Why do I have this problem anyways?

carefully look at the installation of the two support brackets on the bad side. they can easily be installed upside down, they will fit that way fine but the high of your exhaust will be off by about 1/2 inch. i got that problem on mine as well and yes (look like they were installed wrong at the factory) it is pain when you're not sure what way they should be as you have to get all lose again and you really don't know until you tight back all up. if it is wrong you got to untight all again. it was obvious to me after i installed my bassani exhaust as with my body kit i had no room for it as it was off 1/2 inche. after trying the two brackets many way, i was able to find the postion they should be and all fitted perfectly with no shim or washer needed. top of my head when u have the bracket removed and in your hand the stronger side of each bracket (the side with the U channel) should attach at the lower bolt, the smaller side with no U channel is going to the top Bolt.
you do have to loose up the attach collar at the after axle as well to make every thing lose before tightening the exhaust mount first then the collar last. give it atry and let me know.

I will have to check mine to see if i have the sam issue. I took off the hangers becasue it was a pain inthe ass to install with them on...in any case the tips are even. Not sure how much you paid to have them installed but you could have saved by doing it yourself and much left over to buy beer.

I had the same problem when i installed my JBAs. I haven't had time to mess with them this past week, but i hope to resolve the problem this weekend.

If you find a fix, please post it here. I'll do the same if i figure it out too.

My husband installed Magnapaks, and we had the same problem. He cut the rear hanger off, and moved it up 1/2 inch, and welded it back together.

We live in Temecula, and he said he would fix it for you, he needs a reason to use his new welder that he just had to have!

I just went out and looked at mine, flashlight in hand, mine are even. I am not sure why mine might be different than anyone elses but they are even. Now I did take off all the hangers and reinstall them but I do not see how that would make a differance. i will take photos tomorrow and put them in my gallery.

What you need to do is bend the hanger on the muffler just a little bit. The hanger slides into the gromet and with if you bend it down just a bit, it should straighten it out. Taking off the hangers is not going to help.

I love the new sound. Much deeper and throatier. Sounds a lot meaner to me. You're right that they aren't too loud but I like that. Louder than the stock exhaust but not annoying. I met a guy with Bassani's on his '05 and they were pretty loud and they sounded good, too. That may be the way to go if you want more volume.
