Default heater

when I've got the heater fan set to blow on the floor only it blows mostly up the middle of the windshield. I called the dealer on this, so he went out on the lot and tested the 'stangs (2GTs(sold) and 2V6s) they have on the lot. All of them do the same. Is this normal?

Are you sure you don't have it on the option for floor AND defrost? Cuz that will hit the front windshield too.

I've noticed the same thing. I wouldn't say it mostly blows on the windshield, but it definitely is blowing air through the defroster. It really doesn't bother me, and it's great to hear it's not just me having the issue!

yes. in fact it blows as much or more on the windshield when floor only is selected than blows on the windshield when floor-defrost selected.

I tried this yesterday afternoon and I'm not getting the same results. All the air is being directed at the floor when I have the switch in that position. I do notice that the knob will pretty much go all the way around (past all the possible positions). I thought maybe that was because I no longer have the factory knobs on but I also wonder if some of the knobs could have been set in the wrong position to begin with and need to be reset.

18284 2005 MUSTANG - HIGH AIRFLOW FROM DEFROSTER VENTS WHEN IN FLOOR OR FLOOR/DEFROST MODES
SOME 2005 MUSTANGS MAY INTERMITTENTLY EXHIBIT HIGH AIRFLOW FROM THE DEFROSTER VENTS WHEN OPERATING THE CLIMATE CONTROL IN THE FLOOR OR FLOOR/DEFROST MODES. ENGINEERING IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THIS CONDITION. TO TEMPORARILY RESOLVE THE CONDITION, TURN THE CLIMATE CONTROL PANEL CONTROL TO THE 'OFF' POSITION, THEN TURN IT BACK TO THE DESIRED MODE. DO NOT ATTEMPT REPAIR UNTIL A NEW SERVICE PROCEDURE AND/OR PARTS ARE RELEASED. MONITOR OASIS FOR UPDATES.

Although there's a few TSBs for '05 Mustangs, still have plans to trade off my 1994 GT (153 TSBs) for something new with a warranty.

One question I have for the 2005+ owners, how does the floor heater compare to 1994+ models? I usually drive around with the floor heater on during the summer months due to bad circulation in my feet, the heater in my 1994 gets extremely hot to where you can cook bacon or boil eggs... I've heard mixed reviews but if anyone has/had an older Mustang for comparison it would be greatly appreciated.
