This technique really works! I've had wax on my trim since the first time I waxed it. I've tried all kinds of trim detailers and, while it looks good at first, all they do is hide the problem for a few weeks. The the residue shows through again. The other day I'm at the store getting a pen and I decide to pick up a Pink Pearl for a few cents and try it out. What can I say, it really works!

If you haven't yet found anything that works well, I was in that same boat. Today I used Mother's Back-to-Black and it took care of the problem. I also used it on the backs of my mirrors and the black area down where the wipers are. It all looks great!

Default same ol' stuff

I've used peanut butter, Black "Magic", WD-40, baby oil, Clearasil, Goo-B-Gone, rocket fuel, blood from a virgin(real hard to find today),goat urine and all the "tricks", and what I saw after a rain or couple of hot days is the wax shows up again. You just hide it. On my black 01 Lightning when I got wax on the black plastic trim, I used almost straight Dawn dish soap and a small brush. The wax permanently disappears from the plastic. Then get the new Turtle Wax ICE. It don't get any easier.

I had the same problem... I tried Wax BLaster and that didnt work. I then used Mothers Back to Black and scrubbed really hard and that seamed to work.

I then covered all of the trim pieces with 303 Aerospace Protectant, not its UV protected and the water beads up nicely. I used it on all plastic pieces, including mirrors, headlights, and the black cowl piece under the wipers. I recommend this product

Try ZAINO'S Perfect Tire Gloss. I too have similar problems when using carnuba wax products (Meguier's) and the black trim around the windows, etc would end up with the white dried wax residue. After trying Turtle Wax All Purpose Cleaner to no avail, I opted to try the Zaino product, which I use religiously on the tires (no wet residue flying off like Armor All). Worked like a charm, residue is gone and stays gone.

I use Turtle Wax Ice directly on the plasic trim AFTER waxing the rest of the car with any other product and it takes care of the white wax residue I might have gotten on the trim, without totally removing the wax from any painted areas.

I know this is an old thread, but I found it because I had wax on my black trim and was looking for the easiest way to get it off. I just used a dry Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and it made quick work of it.
