Default If You Installed H&R Sport Springs........

Did you have to re-align the car? Not just the front but a four-wheel alignment? Also, H&R highly recommends installing performance shocks and struts with the Sport springs (not OE Sport). Has anyone done this? Looking for any input (from your experience) before I take the plunge. Thanks!

I'm taking it in for alignment this morning, after lowering. Have not heard of having to re-align the rear, but front is a must.

Nothing to align in the rear, solid axle-no shims. When you get the alignment done they will have to do a 4 wheel reference, since thrust line is used to set front.

I would hold off on the "upgraded" shocks and struts. O.E. units work great, agree? My wife is giving me a hard time on my planned Eibach upgrade. Last 3 cars I used them, she hated it.

It's a great upgrade, like riding on rails. You should post pics for/after

Why did your wife hate it? Ride too stiff?

You are half right. Stock there is nothing to align. But if you lower the car you want an adjustable panhard rod to re-center the axle.

Mine was off 11mm after lowering.

You can put a 10" wide wheel on the front but most people run a 9.5" one. I run a 275mm tire on the front, I have not seen anyone go wider than that.

With an absolutely perfect offset you can run a 11.5" rear wheel with a 315mm tire. I have not been able to find a off the shelf rim the required demensions though. It would need to be a custom job. I run a 10.5" wide rear rim with a 295mm tire.

The rear tire measurements I am giving are for "real tires". Drag radials measure out differently and will tolerate being mounted on a narrower rim. I'm sure someone on the board has a 315mm drag radial on a 9.5" rim. This would not be good for anything but going straight though.

I'm surprised you don't have any clearance issues. You must be rubbing a little in full turns..

I have not touched a thing and I even have my axle bumpers cut REAL short. I do bottom out the bumpers from time to time too. The profile in the rear is not very high though, it's a pretty short tire.

I took the springs out and articulated the axle completely and with a little change in offset and a 11.5" rim I can fit some Toyo Proxes R888's under there. They are only 25.5" tall though. When I get of my a$$ and get a set of rims I like I will probably be going with the 315mm Toyo on the rear.
