How wide is too wide on tires?

i found some wheels i want on OEwheelsdirect.com, they are the 06 Cobra wheels and they come in 17"x9" and 18x9.5". I want to buy the 18"x9.5" but do you think 9.5" will be too wide for the front?

Might need bigger offsets and it might make the wheels stick out too far.

the 17x9s have are available in 44 offset, the 18x9.5 are avail. in 50mm offset, I would expect them to fit ok as advertised.

I was checking out the front wheels on my car. The 9.5 should fit so long as you don't go too wide on the rubber. The cobras are coming out with 9.5 stock and 255mm tread. Strange that the rim would be 1.5 inches wider than the GT, but the tread is less than an inch wider.

I kind of like the upgraded GT wheels. I wonder if anyone will make a 18x9.5 version of them.

I'm going 275/40-18's in the rear and 255/45-18 in the front on 18x9 Chrome Bullits( 36mm backspace.) I think the rear tire actually needs to be a little larger to look equal with the front. A buddy has 255/45-18's all around and the front tires look larger than the rears. I think it has to do with the fender well sizes. Look at TBteams second picture, the car looks awsome but to me the front tires look larger than the rears. Another option would be 255/45/18's in the rear and 245/4518's in the front. Seen a car on Mustang world with this setup and it looks very well balanced. I know you cannot properly rotate the tires but this car will not be an every day driver for me so I'm not concerned.

The wheels and tires on my car are the Chrome 06 Cobra knock offs. They are 18 x 9.5". The rubber is: 255/45-18's in the front and 285/40-18 in the rear. Back space on the wheels is 50mm.

They don't rub, they don't stick out, and they look awesome!

Dude, the wheels are amazing. They make the (already awesome looking) car just plain off the hook. I got so many double takes today. I'm such an attention HO.
