Crazy001 -- I had a similar problem with my 500 the other day. I also noticed that when the playing MP3's (have not checked CD tracks yet) that once the player finishes the last song (playing sequential) on the media and reverts back to track 1 the player spits out my CD and says that it is a bad disk. At the same time my clock gets reset and I loose my radio presets. . Has anybody seen this issue???

The problem you have discribed has covered ALL the reported problems with the Shacker 500/1000. I guess that would qualify as a yes to your question.
It sounds as if you have joined the club. Take it back and tell your dealer to order you a new one. There is a TSB out covering this so they should already be aware of it. You can do a search in this forum for more posts on this subject, but to save you some time just take it back.

I haven't noticed any skipping, but mine also does that pause between tracks thing.. it also doesn't like to play tracks above track 20 unless it plays through to track 21 (scanning to track 21 goes back to track 1 most of the time)

Yeah, the sound system is the least impressive part of the car I think. Mine also skips and is slow as mud when reading, ejecting, and loading But I figure it's a factory system and don't they usually stink compared to aftermarket? Also I hardly use it, I'd rather hear the engine!

Default Can not duplicate - so what!

Well I brought my stang in for the skipping CD and they say they can not dulpicate it. No duh, it's an intermittant problem. They said they can't replace it unless they can duplicate it. I gave them the TSB # and spoke with the service tech supervisor. I asked them why they can't trust me to know what a skipping CD sounds like, am I stupid or am I a lairer. Why would I want them to dig into my dash if there was not a problem? Cuz I want them to F**k up some else potentially? I'm officially pissed off!

Politely ask to see the general manager and request a Factory Rep input on this matter. Hopefully the GM will try to avoid bringing him into this and have a word with his Service Department Manager. If not you still have the Factory Rep and the TSP for the COVERED warranty work. If all else fails take your car to another Ford service department and inform your dealer that that is were you will be taking your future business and referrals.

Thats what my service department rep told me as well. We'll see as soon as the part arrives.

I dropped mine off before work and picked it up in the evening. I'll be taking it in for the 3rd time sometime this week. I'm getting tired of jacking with this issue too. I hate taking my car in for service. It's never the same when I get it back. :-( I sure as heck wouldn't want to leave it overnight.

I hear ya, I'm going to have to replace my replacement CD player because the replacement skips more than the original. Quite frankly, the Shaker system sucks and is a black eye for QC at Ford. I wish my car came with the single disk system, at this point, but I bought it off the lot way back in November, so little choice in the matter

At this point I'd give anything to be able to play a dang CD. And what good does it do to have a 6CD changer if it takes 10 minutes to switch from one CD to another? I'm usually almost to work by then... Dangit Ford! >

Default Day Three

Ford has had my car for three days now. They agreed to replace the CD yesterday after I informed them of the TSB and gave them a bunch of Sh*t. They said they would get the new CD today. Thanks to however posted the TSB # as I would have gotten no where without it. Anyway, I don't have a lot of hope that the new one will work but I had to give it a shot. If it still has problems I will probably just get a different CD player installed!!
