Wow! That has to be the nicest combo of car color/stipes I've seen yet. B e a u t i f u l If I ever see my Redfire Vert, I am considering putting Torch Red stripes on it ... subtle contrasting colors look better to me than the "in-your-face" two tone look of black or white stripes. Good Job!:thumbsup

Thanks for the compliments. Classy and subtle is what I was going for. It is a subtle difference but really adds something to the car. I struggled a little with the decision to stripe or not, went back and forth several times (drove my wife crazy). I am thrilled with the results and have no regrets after doing it. It came out looking exactly like the bullitts, with no direct light it is kind of a flat look. In direct sunlight or under direct light at night the metallic comes out and it really sparks up. If you have the bullitts you probably know exactly what I mean. Cool effect and really gives it two totally different looks. When I get my own camera instead of going to my brothers to shoot it (when convenient) maybe I can get some better quality shots that really show it off. Got my Zaino package today. I'm hoping it really intensifies the shine as advertised.

V-E-R-Y nice indeed. Also very unique with the lighter tone. You won't see another like it, I'm sure. Did you come up with that idea on your own or had you seen it elsewhere? Wow, this one's going in my download pic folder - nice job!!!

I decided on the color within days of getting the car. Had not seen it done elsewhere. The width and gap I just looked at so many other pics. I had decided on ten inch width and just figured on the 1&1/2 inch gap to bring the outside line right down between the inside of the fogs.

I went to a small individual shop which had a good reputation for custom jobs. The process involved wet sanding the area to be striped to remove the clear coat, layering about six light coats for the stripes, and re-clearing each entire panel which was painted. The computer quote for repainting all of the panels was about $1800. He charged me $900 since they weren't painting each entire panel.

I had to pay about $1600 for mine. The guy did a great job, but he was a little sloppy and got a few red specks on the silver and unfortunately he did not see them before the clear was applied... It is not worth repainting the entire top over it, but it does bug me a little...( of course no one else seems to notice them.. )
I can identify with trying to make a decision. Letting someone paint your brand new car is a tough decision. I knew I wanted red to be a little different, ( your color was my second choice ). I spent a hours trying to match the red stripe as close as possible to the red seats. I looked through every color sample the guy had. He finally just mixed up a custom red metalic color for me. The end result is a near perfect match in the sun or shade. It looks a little more candy apple in the sun and more maroon in the shade...
I think that the 05' look great with 10" stripes. I struggled most with the gap size. I wanted 1" and the wife thought 2" ( women always seem want more inches ). 1-1/2" was the compramise and I think it looks great....
