Default question about magnaflow cat back dual exhaust for v6

if anyone has this, did you have to cut the valence? in http://www.v6mustangstuff.com/images/05v6dual_small.jpg
in that picture it looks as if it hangs just below the valence and keeps it level so doesn't require cutting. Eventually I'd like a GT valence but it's just not in the cards right now. And for the guys who love to point to the search bar, thanks I do know how to use it and did research it, but couldn't find my answer.

Yeah I have a V6 and I purchased the magnaflow dual exhaust system for my car, but before I had my exhaust installed I took my car to a body shop and had them cut a curve in the bumper to match the otherside where the stock exhaust was. I don't have pictures on it right now but I will post some if you would like.

Installed Magnaflow exhaust system, (part #16605), last week. I cut the rear valance with a dremmel. It wasn't hard, went slow and it took about an hour to figure out where to make the cut and cut it. Installed the exhaust in my garage with the help of a friend and it took about 2 hours. Hardest part was getting factory pipe off, you need to get car off the ground a foot or so or get out the sawzall, which is what I did. Still need to get under the car and loosen the clamps and adjust the tips to make it look even. BTW I paid $383 total with 3 day free delivery, if you haven't got a better price let me know.

Nice work CDC MUST! That looks great. I can install the exhaust myself, but don't have access to the tools necessary to make the cut so I'm thinking bout getting the valence cut at a garage that sells magnaflow exhaust, also which website did you buy the kit from? I'll call around for some quotes on the cut and let me know what you think

Sounds like a good excuse for buying a dremel to me. Trust once you have one you'll use it all the time. Not very expensive either.

I looked at one, wasn't really familliar with what a dremel was, but yeah I'll probably just do it all myself now.

Thanks!!! It sounds great. They have a sound clip of the V6 Mustang on Magnaflow's website. I think it sounds better in person. But it gives you an idea though.

You should definitly buy the GT bumper, it wasnt even that expensive $200 for the part and $80 to paint it, its a very easy install so id recommend putting it on yourself to save you the costs of labor, and it will look just like the GT when your done.

Could you describe the process of replacing the V6 rear bumper cover with the GT cover? Did you do it or did the dealer? What's easy for some folks might not be too easy for others...
Thanks.
