Default GT 5 Speed Transmission Noise 2005 Mustang GT

I have an 05 GT with the 5 speed manual transmission.
In first and second gear there is what I feel is excessive transmission noise. It sounds like it's running straight gears
To give an example it's as loud as my CRX-Si in reverse.
I know there was a TSB for transmission noise for cars built before January 15th but mine was built April 5th.
The noise was apparent from day 1 and I even brought it to the dealer which says it's normal. I installed my Steeda Tri-Ax shifter 2 days ago and the noise is now almost unbareable. I will be removing the shifter till I bring it back for a second look.
Does anyone else find their transmission making similar sounds?

Sounds like you have the same sounds I have and all other stick 05 GTs I've driven / been in... On here somwhere is a Tri-Ax thread with info on 'insulating' the shifter when you put on the Tri-Ax, I did it and it's not much louder than stock was...

Yea Im getting a lot of noise from my tranny too. Also once in a while you can hear a 'clunk' noise when you shift usually between 1-2 and 2-3, it sounds like the clutch is engaging or something. Im planning on taking it back to the dealer to check it out.

I get the same thing and even commented on a different thread. It seems this whinny and clunky trans is "normal" so I'll let it play it out (it is covered under the warranty) . I have yet to drive another GT to see for sure (which would be nice)

my first gear is whinny too, and I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the v6 and GT's have the same 5 speed tranny.

They are pretty much the same with the GT 5-speed reinforced. The V6 uses the T5 which have been in many other Mustangs and the GT now have the stronger TR3650... (wish it was the 6-speed!)

Well I'm getting tired of all the racket so I went out and bought 30 Sq. Ft. of Dynamat Extreme. The interior has been completely removed and I'm hoping to complete the job by tomorrow evening.
