Question Vert Top Cleaner suggestions

Guys,

I've got a tan top on my vert (which was not what I wanted, but I could only get the tan interior with the tan top), but I digress...

I need suggestions for a really good and safe cleaner for the vinyl top. My last vert, a 2000, also had a tan top and that thing looked dirty immediately after a thorough wash. I swear you could see tire tracks ON THE TOP!!! I'm probably going to exchange tops for a black top later on, but for now, HOW DO YOU CLEAN THESE THINGS?!?

Please help!

I've always used Blue Magic convertible top cleaner. Harsh chemicals will dry the vinyl out. Get it a pep boys, autozone, etc. I've had a lot of tops, even white, and it does a good job. The key is to keep on top of the dirt and don't let it accumulate. Parking in a garage or using a cover is highly recommended.

I had the 93' LX Triple white anniversary mustang before I bought my 05 GT. The top was white and I tried everything to keep it clean. By far the best cleaner I used was Simple Green. This was reccommended to me by a detail shop. I used a scrub brush and liberal amounts of Simple Green. My top never looked so good and my car was a daily driver.

Thanks, my wife has an 05 Sebring vert with a cloth top, and I was looking for something to use. Aren't all the Mustang tops vinyl, though?

The convertible top material is made by Haartz... and Haartz recommends Ragg Top cleaner and protectant. I've used if for over 5 years now and its awesome!!! Keep it cleaned and protected regularly with these products and it will look like new 5 years from now. They couldn't believe when I traded by 2000 that I still had the original top... and it was black. They thought I just had it replaced! These tops are Haartz Sailcloth Vinyl. http://www.haartz.com/Product_Lines/ext/default.htm

PS: Ragg Top makes them for both fabric and vinyl tops and are the manufactures for most all tops. Here's a quick link but you can find it at many other places. http://www.raggtopp.ca/twinpack.html

I've also heard great things about 303 Aerospace products.
