Default How to wire my Fog Lights

I recently installed fog lights on my V6 but cannot find a good and simple way to connect them without slicing OEM wires. I know there's a kit being sold for 139$ on eBay but it's wat too expensive.

Anyone as any suggestion or wiring diagrams I could use, I want something simple and clean looking.

Thanks,

Look around at the local discount auto parts stores for a remote switch, cost will be between 20.00 and 40.00 and you won't need any thing else unless you don't have the connectors for the foglights. These remote switches are fairly easy to install and you don't have to mess with the existing car wiring.

Default wiring your V6 fog lamps

go into your local Ford Store and ask the nice parts man to sell you the switch. Have him give you a copy of the wiring diagram, then wire the switch thru the open fuse that is located on EVERY fuse panel. The routing of the wire will be a hassle, but it's worth it if you want clean install.

If your talking about using the GT light switch going from the battery, fuse, switch to lights may be a problem.I don't tkink the GT light switch by itself is built to carry the current required to run the lights.Ford uses the switch to activate a relay in the fuse/relay under the hood and then to the fog lights.I would want to know what the current rating of the GT switch is before trying to run directly to a set of fog lights.A Ford dealer quoted me a price just to do the wiring from the switch to the lights of 300.00 so it sounds as if its a little more than getting a switch and running a wire.I could be wrong, been wrong many times but just check it out first.

Default Done right wiring

Well, if you don't have the expertise to wire yourself, then you might have to pay those that do. There is a relay to stop the highbeams from being used with the fog lamps so that needs to be ordered, I think it's the Fog Light Relay, you will need to run another set of wires to the main fuse panel, as I am pretty sure the wire loom is different in the V6 from the headlamps.

I know that Roush doesn't mess with the stock system at all and puts ANOTHER set of Fog Lamps on the lower valence...that is on it's own switch.

Sorry, if you were looking for more...since I am getting the 2006 V6, it's a moot point for me.

If you go to www.autobarn.net/helligstor.html and look for Hella Optilux Fog/driving lights remote control kit. They are 34.95 plus shipping, its what I have on my car and my daughters car,no trouble with them so far. They only come with one remote though.
