Default Steeda 90mm CAI/MAF and the Xcal or Pred tune

Ok, I just got off the phone with a rep from Steeda because I wanted to pick up their CAI. Well it appears that the new CAI is 90mm MAF not 83mm, and the Diab Pred does not carry a tune for it. The Xcal2 however does. As I was talking to the rep, he said that they should be coming in stock today, but he wasn’t able to tell me a whole lot about the differences between Xcal2 and Diab Pred. I got the impression from him that the Pred was better, however they will not have a tune for the 90mm Steeda for some time.



If I wanted to get the new CAI, I’d have to get the Xcal2 to tune it. I asked the guy if it did other things like change the rev limiter, remove the torque management, etc, but he didn’t think it did the same sort of things as the Diab Pred.



Can anyone give me some input on the Xcal2 and what it is good for, and if you can the new 90mm CAI from Steeda as well.

Get the Steeda CAI and the Diablo...

The Diablo is much more flexible regarding timing, A/F mixture. Idle speed, axle ratio changes, etc...

But don't take my word for it...

Just ask others!!!

Steeda cai and diablo predator tuner here. The Steeda tune in the predator need not be dynoed as far as I can tell. The tune seems right on the $$$$$.

X-Cal 1 could do MORE than the Pred. X-Cal 2 is just superior!

I have gotten to know quite a few tuners and most prefer the SCT product. Many sell both but use ONE themselfs.

The Diablo tune for the Pro Charger was lean with bad timing! SCT's was much better, and custome tune on dyno better yet. I can't remember the exact numbers (you'll read about them in 5.0 early this fall) but something like 412, 432, and 454 RWHP... Pretty similar resoults that they got with the Blow-By ported heads. Diablo tuned it in their own facilities for a 28 RWHP gain, SCT got the data log e-mailed to them and e-mailed a tune good for 8 more!

If you mod the intake side or cats/headers you'd be dumb not to tune on a dyno! There IS more HP's avail not to mention you will quarante' the right mixture for engine longlevity!
