As many of you have already done I installed a plenum cover from Midwest something or other. I believe they are somehow associated with UPR. At any rate looking at the UPR catalog (page 5 under 05 parts) they have a Strut Tower Brace for sale ($100). It's nothing fancy but from the looks of it I don't think it will clear the plenum cover. The other problem is the brace is painted black. Okay for you guys with black plenum covers but not so good for the rest of us. I wrote them an e-mail asking 2 questions: Will the brace clear? and; Can they paint the brace to match the plenum covers?

I'll let you know what they say but in the meantime how do you think the two would look together? I think if the paint scheme matched they'd look pretty good but not if they are 2 different colors.

I'm going to make a wild guess and say the brace won't have the clearance needed to pass over the midwest cover.

If they won't paint it the color you want it, have it powder coated locally. Inexpensive and fairly durable.

You guys feel a tower brace really needed? I understood the need on the Fox but the '05?

If the brace doesn't clear plennum cover I'd still go with the cover. Shame on Ford for taking it away from us

I don't think it's really needed. Might make a slight difference in the front end if you were really cranking the wheel. Mainly like most of this stuff just for looks.
