Default Awesome day at the Track

My Mustang club rented the 2 1/2 mile Road course at Mosport Ontario on Wednesday.

The '05 is absolutely awesome on the track. The tires worked great hot or cold, kept getting better hotter naturally.

We were doing hot laps with intervals and the faster cars were allowed to pass on the back straight. I kept catching up to late model Cobra's.

When my son, who knows what he is doing drove a session later in the day, he reeled in 3 Cobra's and passed them, plus about 5 other cars!

The Cobra's were stock and one of the guys really didn't want us to catch up!

We got up to 125 on the back straight. Last year my '03 GT would only make 115 on the back straight before running out of road.

It was a fun day at the track but myself and 3 other '05 GT's surprised a whole bunch of people.

Regards Paul

Nice post, nice picture and nice job. What was your top speed with the 4.10's? Did you reset your speedo with a tune? I don't see a CAI/ Tune in your sig. Get one if not already, you will really eat Cobras, 'cept the S/C 2003/ 2004 ones. Nice paint scheme, it looks like a racer.

Default Track set up

Thanks guys;

I do have the XTCalibrator installed with the Steeda Cold air induction and a Triax shifter.
The back straight at Mosport is long but an uphill climb. The program compensates for the speedo and the gear change. The car pulls really hard.

My '03 GT with a little Vortech would only get up to 115 on the back straight with 3.73's. The '05 made 125 all the time at the top of the hill.

My car is in the shop now for an install of the Intercooled Vortech SC.
Steeda Canada is going do do a test and tune on the car for their catalogue update.

I am going to build a spare forged short block over the winter....you know...just in case!

Regards Paul

Haha, you are loaded for bear. The intercooled vortech is the "hi-po" model meaning you can really put in the boost if you decide to do the built short block. You can get over 600 rwhp with that vortech I'm sure with the right pully and accessories to support (injectors, clutch, flywheel, fuel pump, control arms, rolling stock, etc). You may want to go back to your 3.55's with that much RWHP for the street, unless it will become an ET racer.
Keep us informed and enjoy your Stang man, you are going to be THE BOSS with the Vortech.
