Default high flow cats and x ?'s

thinking about getting the magnaflow setup from steeda, i need opinions please. i already have headers and mufflers so i expect this to compliment my already nice sound and some good perf, bc of the x and the cats are high flow. anybody install these or have experiance with new cats or an x-pipe, i know an x-pipe is popular for mustangs. i live in orlando so emissions arent a prob thank god. by buddy want to just wack the cats off i think that is too much.

I NEED OPINIONS PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

THANKS

just from my limited reasoning, and hearing different storys, no matter how high flow the cats are, you would still get a much better hp rating by not having any, buuuuut that would most likely be illegal, even in florida

There are only a handful of companies that make the catalytic substrate. Think of it as a honeycomb design albeit with smaller holes coated in various metals like palladium that heat up & burn the "bad stuff".

There are epa & state standards that have to be met & replacements have to be tested & certified.

Either way your gas is passing through this substrate that will impede exhaust flow. Ergo high flow cats is more of a marketing ploy although they may have a larger inlet or outlet pipe to try & substantiate the claim.

Hypothetically , on the other hand if you gut the inside of the cat (remove the substrate & install a staight pipe through the shell ) & re-install the empty shell then you'll truly have a high flow system & most new cars run so clean you'll probably pass emissions . Some savy inspectors can catch this .
Of course none of this wouldn be legal :lock

You do need some degree of back pressure to scavenge gas's but most mufflers &/or resonators will accomplish this w/out cats.
