I've been searching for a car that I can either add a turbo to, or an already turbo-charged car to be my fair-weather driver into work.

Has anyone here added a turbo to an 05 V6? A turboed V8 I'm guessing would be so fuel hungry and too powerful for driving the 90 miles I take one way, or I'd consider one of those.

So, I'm intrigued by the notion of putting a turbo into a new Mustang V6, but I'm not by any means a gear head, so I'm curious- are there any kits available or is this the sort of scenario that would require fabrication (I've read the FAQs so I know that's what alot of folks do - put their own kit together.)

I've thought about getting an old 1995 RX-7 and driving that, but they are temperamental and if they've ever overheated forget it - its new engine time...

Anyway, that's what I'm curious about - 2005 V6 turbos out there- tell me your story. (no SC for me, the turbo spooling and blow-off are addicting).

so far, by what I have found, there is nothing out there yet. You can make a CUSTOM kit. I was/will do a Twin Turbo Setup on my 05 V6 when the warranty ends. A custom shop near me quoted me 5k for all of it. Custom mainfolds, intercooler, piping, both turbos, intake, oil lins, etc... But, if you can find 2 generic turbos for a great deal, you can save yourself a lot of money.

A C/F blower while robbing some power will give you pretty much the turbo spool-up and feel. But with much less heat> more power, less engine wear, especially with an after/inter cooled C/F blower... (Vortech, Pro Charger, etc.)

MMR's Turbo Kit looks pretty nice but it's a GT in the pics... maybe they can build you one? http://www.modularmustangracing.com/
