Hi all, today I drove to work & parked the stang... 3 hours later I gotta go somewhere so I try to start it up. Depress clutch, stick shift trans in neutral, turn the key - nothing. Try it 2 more times - nothing, not even the starter turning over or solenoid clicking. Try it again and it fires right up as if nothing was ever wrong. It was parked outside today but temp was 75 and sunny out. This has happened to me about 3 other times in the 7 months I've owned the car... What the heck!!? Anyone else had this prob or had a dealer look at it?
It is going in for service tomorrow for 2nd oil change, 2nd try at replacing the Shaker 1000, New rear brake calipers to fix the squeaky brakes problem and a new steering wheel for a loose screw prob there... sigh... The car is a lot of fun to drive and looks hot, but the quality problems are souring me a bit on it...thank god it's under warranty.

Sounds like you may have a problem with a switch on the clutch that allows the ingnition to work when you depress it. Not a machanic but I know if my clutch is not depressed fully on my 98 Stang it wont turn over as well. Just a starting place to start troublshooting.

I have read in a forum on this site that there is a switch for the shaker 1000 that needs to probably be replaced. This switch keeps the amp for the subs on after the radio is on and you come back to a completely drained battery. Maybe this is happening to u 2???

I think 05gtmustang is probably the closest. That would explain why it (fired right up) started after a few tries.

It could also be something interfering with your security key - activating the passive antitheft. If you have another key with electronics in it on the same keychain, or a keychain light, or anything big and metal, try ONLY the Stang key by itself.
