I've been looking at the instructions, and online, for about the last two hours, trying to figure out exactly what I need to do to pull data using the XCalibrator2.
Maybe I'm way off-base in my assumptions, but I thought one of the "hot new" features of this unit was that you could take your Stanger out for a run, and have the XCAL2 plugged in while you drive...and then once you got home you could download all the engine data (that got stored during the drive) to your PC. Am I getting that right?
If so, what particular setting in the XCAL should be used while you're driving? The five I see right now are:
DTC/Data Menu
Program Vehicle
Display Dealer Info
LCD Contrast
Device Info
None of them have any specific details that appear to pertain to the datalogging function...
Frustration level rising...any help is hugely appreciated...

The stand alone data logging not available yet. It will be a firmware update to your X-Cal2. It's supposed to be released sometime in August... so for now you would need to use a laptop....

Yeah Blackie, that's my understanding, although I haven't tried it...Daughter's takin' the laptop to Morgantown in two days and I figured if I hooked it up and started gettin' data, I wouldn't be able to give the thing back to her...

But for now, you can log to a laptop in your car w/ the USB cable between the laptop and SCT-X2 right? I know you need their software too.
Thanks.
sorry I missed this last night... yes, you need to down load Live Link. The sometimes tricky part is getting the USB->Serial driver to load/work... The drivers are included with Live Link.
Down load and install the 2.15 version. Then down load the 2.18 and extract it to the directory where 2.18 got installed... (if i remember correctly... LOL)
