Angry Loose Break Pedal....

Well I took my car in for a loose break pedal, when I got it back, I saw they put on new front strut's . I never had the popping as desribed in the TSB;s, but simply a loose break pedal....... go figure. Now I hope that the front end doesent start popping.. LOL. Also on a side note, I also took it in for the unlocking feature. My owners manual states that I can put the key into the door, twist it once for the drivers door to unlock and with in 3 seconds I should be able to turn it again to unlock the pass. side door. Mine wont do that, does anyone elses do that. Can you unlock the passinger side door with the key in the drivers side door as stated on I think page 85 ish in the owners manual?? thanks Tim

Hmm... I'm getting the impression that Ford has made major modifications to the owners manual at some point this year because I see nothing here specific to that feature. I found the following on pages 65 and 66 of my electronic copy of the owners manual.

Central locking and unlocking feature

Your vehicle’s keys are designed to lock and unlock the driver’s door, aswell as open the trunk.

The driver’s door is unlocked when the key is inserted in the driver
door key cylinder and turned to the unlock position. The driver’s door

is locked when the key is inserted in the driver door key cylinder and
turned to the lock position.

Note:
Locking the driver door with the key does not lock the passenger

door. Use the power door lock control or manually lock the passenger

door to ensure the vehicle is properly secured.

Power door trim switch inhibit (if equipped)

This feature disables the power door lock controls if all the doors are
locked and the active anti-theft system (if equipped) becomes armed.
For more information concerning the active anti-theft system, refer to
Active anti-theft system (if equipped) later in this chapter.

Once the power door trim switches are disabled, they can only become
active when a valid electronic unlock event (i.e., using the remote entry
transmitter) occurs.

I guess they changed that mid way through the model year. On page 64 of my owner's manual, it states that vehicles with the active anti theft will lock the passenger door when you lock the driver's door with the key. Furthermore, if you unlock the driver's door, and then turn the key again, it will unlock the passenger door.

My electronic copy, dated June of '05, states that ONLY the driver's door can be unlocked with the key. I tried it out, and I can unlock or lock my passenger door with the key in the driver side door. I guess if it doesn't work, your car was built after they made the change.

Well having 4 cars with 4 key fobs, my pocket runs out of room. 4 Keys takes up less room rather than 4 fob's. And I'm too LAZY to keep 4 different set of keys with 4 house keys, plus work keys, P.O. Key, etc etc....
