Default Gear Oil Change?

Hey all,
Those who have changed out their stock gears, what kind and how much fluid are you putting in? I'm going to flush mine out, but don't know how much to go buy. I heard royal purple is the way to go?

If you have the same rear end housing but just changed the gears, the fluid level should be the same. Minus the amount you need for friction modifier if need be. To be honest this is the first time I've heard of someone wanting too "flush" the rear-end. Did you change the gears for performance reasons or was the rear-end just plain worn out? As far as fluids go here's a couple of links that might help ya out.

All the oil listed above are good so I wouldn't get too hung up on brand name.

Hey imikus,
Thanks for the info. Gears done for performance and I just feel like changing the fluid. I know some installers say to change the fluid after 500 miles and some don't I couldn't think of anything else but "flush it out"
