Default Brass or Plastic gears for TB, which is better?

Ok guys, I have been reading up on 62 mm TB for a little now and from what I can tell they are an easy way to get 7 to 10 rwhp. With my auto it seems I shouldn't need a tune and I shouldn't get any erratic behaivior. I should get it tuned for optimal results though.

I have read of a few getting stuck here and there after you let off of the gas. I have heard this is from brass gears. Anyone have any info to help or opinions or experiance with aftermarket TB's?

Thanks for any help guys!

Sorry, no idea, stuck doesn't sound good though... but how will plastic work for us in the cold?

I'm not 100 percent positive, but i'm pretty sure kj that from a pic i saw a while ago that the stock throttle bodies use plastic gears. So i'd imagine it would have no effect.

I think our stock TB have plastic gears in them from the factory.

The BBK TB claims to have from the factory OEM gears... http://www.brothersperformance.com/c...oducts_id/3489

I would think that brass would be better because they wouldn't wear out or break like plastic...

I dunno... heh

I don't think the throttle is actually physically sticking but rather there is a delay between when you release the throttle and the RPM falling to idle speed. Mustangs do this any way but from what I've read it seems to be more pronounced with aftermarket throttle bodies. The rate of RPM decay is determined by the ecu, so this is more of a tuning issue than a defect in the throttle body itself.

I have a Grantelli TB for my car and it has brass gears. From what I have been reading, you will need to grease the brass gears every now and them to keep them working optimally.
