rear end rubbing noises My car (8000miles) started making noises from the rear end about 1000 miles ago. Sounded like rubbing noises. I could only hear the noise when making left or right turns and I had to be coasting about 10-15 mph in 2nd gear.
I took it to a dealer. They told me it was the pads in the rear end. Their solution was to add a friction modifier. The noises have stopped but I don't know if this was just a temp fix. They said they could replace the pads but the noises may come back again after the new pads have broken in. Should I have the pads replaced? Or is their fix the standard repair?
