ok peoples, I can't get better than a 13.80 out of my 06 GT 5 spd. but my mph is consistent 100.50. I can't launch at a decent rpm because of this damn axle hop, I feel like I'm in a 79' fox! Can I get rid of it with just a upper+lower CA swap? someone please tell me how to make this damn car stick! thanks =)

Pretty sure I heard an LCA would do the trick.

I put lca's on mine yesterday and I'm still experiencing wheel hop. I'm still trying to figure out if I should try uppers next, or relocation brackets.

I used BMR lowers. did not help. bought steeda billet lowers and adj. upper. Only have the lowers on so far and that has practically eliminated the hop. We'll see in a few weeks when the track opens... for some reason the surface there made hop even more problematic

how much are the BMRs torqued? I remember the instructions say about 85 ft-lbs. I got a tech CD from e-bay, it says to torque them down to 129.... which is what I did with the Steeda lca's. I don't know if that had anything to do with anything. worth a try.

To eliminate wheel hop the axle has to be dampened both horizonally and vertically. The lower control arms assuming they have the correct hardness bushings, dampen the horizontal only. You then need stiffer shocks to dampen the vertical.
Thougth I would never get rid of wheel hop in my 98 Camaro until I finally changed out the shocks. Now I can knock off 1.4 60' times over and over with zero wheel hop.
You should get the bmr lower controal arms and get the relocation brackets along with the adjustable upper and the reloaction bracket as well. This will not only cure the wheel hop but will also change the instant center and make the car launch like a beast.

I ran consistent 13.6's this weekend at the track. If you're on street tires you can't launch the car off the line. Walk it out and hammer the throttle once you've hit second gear.

Okay... you're all gonna think I have no clue as I'm going to mention 'cornering parts'... I had Eibach Pro Springs and their Anti-Roll Kit and NEVER EVER a single hop!
Now I have Powerhouse LCAs and UCA and it's even better, as I said I never had any probs with hop but now it REALLY hooks.... if I only could get it into 2nd I'd be fine! ;o) www.PowerHouse411.com

What RPM are you guys with the steeda or BMR LCA's/UCA's launching at and what were you able to launch at with the stock parts?
I'm going to try and get out to the track tomorrow night. I will be running with the setup listed in my sig. I have heard most people say they are launching at about 2500 on street radials so that is what I will probably start with. I hope I don't embarass myself too bad since this will be my first time at the track.
Embarass yourself! I would have given up racing long time ago every every aborted attempt at launching embarrassed me. Don't let it bother you at all! Go have fun!
You know nothing before you've showed them a 1/8 mile wheel spin, bogg of the line, missed the line, twice, missed second, missed third, gone with your window open, gone with TCS on... you get the idea...
HAVE FUN !!

My first run this year with the S/C, and I bogged once, hit the rev limiter hard in all four gears, and ended up coasting across the line. I got back in line and ran again. It gets better, Im still experimenting, but Im Launching at 3500with crappy tires, and steeda LCA's and Steeda UCA. If I could just figure out how to adjust it!

With the set up you have I don't think you need to worry too much about it. I've run a 13.8 on street tires and hope to do much better with some new drag radials I just bought. This mights sound retarded but try turning your heel out towards your door when you launch. It gives you more control over your leg and how you release the clutch. 2.01 is my best 60' so i hope to do a whole lot better. After this friday Ill know if I need to do some suspension work. I usaully launch at about 3000 rpms but I've gotten pretty good a feathering the clutch to avoid too much tire spin.
