Street Scene used my 06 Mustang GT yesterday to test their new center mount driving light grille shell. The shell is made from injection molded plastic so it mounts, feels and looks like an OE grille shell. The driving lights clear the hood release so there are no installation issues. ( the lights are tight but they do clear) There is no warping on the bottom of the shell and it fits perfect at all the edges. I'm told that they will be going into production in about 3 weeks and will have them available in about 5 weeks. They are making two part numbers- one for the GT and one for the V6 so they are vehicle specific. The GT will be coming out first followed in about 2 months for the V6.
On a side note, these guys were a real class act. I was very worried about them test fitting the grille on my car, but they carefully taped everything and took care with the hardware not to scratch or damage anything. This was definitely worth the wait, if you didn't know better you would swear this is a factory piece.
Personally I'm not a fan of that grille. I like my "running pony" in the center and I like my fog/driving lights whichever, right where they're at. That grille just isn't attractive IMO.

Agree... I like my grill just the way it is. But, to each his own.
The chrome pony sure looks good between the fog lamps in the factory GT configuration. This look has promise though - I'd like to see it with the centered lights and contrasting body stripes, keeping a stock hood.
Every one to their own taste, but I can't say this is for me? Maybe more pic's when you can, showing more than one view. I don't mean it's not good looking but I have something else already planned. More pic's.........
does anyone have a pic of the shelby grill? A dad on my kid's soccer team has a 67 shelby (blue w/ gray stripes) ... its awesome ... i just saw it a week ago or so ... I thought my 05 would look awesome with the lights in the center ... then maybe all the idiots that think they are high beams will stop flashing me.
My question is ... what kind of alignment is set up for the light angles? Any probs with them pointing too high or too much into the oncoming lane?
Also, maybe they could make a place for an offest pony to one side or something. I like the pony too ... but center lights is distinctive and true to the shelby heritage

I've got the same grill, but it was from KSR not SS. The ones from KSR were put on hold ( recalled ) because the bottom was warped. But if you had about 30 minutes to spare they were easily fixable.

Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing. But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Dear Hawgman,
Please tell me how you straighten the bottom of your grille...
I have a slight warping problem on each side about 4 inches...
I forwarded all of the questions to the guys at SSE, they may most post directly or send them back to me, so if I get them I will post as soon as they are received.
I've had the Street Scene center mount fog light grille for months now. Had no warping problems of any kind ever. Had no problems of any kind with this grille.

I find ppl usually like anything thats different than stock. If the car came like that stock everyone would say 'why the hell isn't there a pony emblem on the front, its a mustang!' and then there would be aftermarket grilles that place the driving lamps apart with a pony in the middle.

Well quite a few people on TMS were using pieces of metal and clamps and all other sorts of voodoo. I took a little different ( and much simpler ) approach.
Found a piece of 1X2 laying in the corner of the garage that was about 8 or so inches long. Heated the bottom of the grill with a propane torch toward the back until it got soft ( don't melt it! ) then on the inside of the grill pushed the warp out with the piece of wood until it was straight and flat. Took all of about 10 minutes.

That's a whole different type of grille. The one you have is made from a mesh screen. This one is the OE style. Looks just like the factory grille except the placement of the lights.
