If you want a deep sound you're better off with an H-pipe. X-pipes tend to produce a higher-pitched sound.

Its possible to couple the X with a MAC exhaust or SLP Loudmouth kit, which will produce a lower tone, but you'll have a VERY loud car if you do so....

Agree with 65... Better to go with an offroad H--sounds much better. I'll be changing at some point to a catted-H.

I just received my off road (no cat) H-pipes from Brenspeed. I haven't installed them yet, but I selected the H over the X because I spend 99.9% of my time driving down the road and enjoy listening to myself (my car that is). Call it vanity and chalk it up to the same reasoning as the sequential tail lights. I expect that the sound will be better than the X pipe, and the power almost as good.

Agree... I don't like the sound of my X. Doesn't even sound as good as my stock H. Should've bought the aftermarket H like I had originally planned.

billyboat-
My factory H-pipes have a catalytic converter attached to them. My aftermarket off road H-pipes don't have cats. Less restriction. More power.
